Mason Fluharty Could See More High-Leverage Opportunities
Mason Fluharty could get more opportunities in high-leverage spots with right-hander Yimi Garcia (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list. Fluharty has only 2 1/3 innings of high-leverage work this year, but he's allowed a batting average under .175 to all hitters. The 23-year-old southpaw struggled at times against righties in the minor leagues, but his cutter has become a weapon against them now and is using the pitch almost 70% of the time against righties. Fluharty has earned more opportunities later in games and is one to keep an eye on in fantasy leagues that count holds. The former fifth-rounder in 2022 out of Liberty has a 3.86 ERA (3.08 FIP) and 0.90 WHIP with 20 strikeouts and eight walks in his first 21 relief innings in the big leagues in 2025.
