MarShawn Lloyd Dealing With Hamstring Tightness
MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) left the team's 23-19 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday with hamstring tightness, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Lloyd suffered the injury when he was tackled after gaining 33 yards on his lone catch of the game. He also carried the ball six times for 15 yards in his preseason debut. The severity of Lloyd's hamstring issue is unknown - "We'll see," head coach Matt LaFleur said - but injuries have been an all-too-frequent occurrence during his short career. A third-round pick from USC last year, Lloyd appeared in just one game as a rookie as a result of ankle and hamstring problems, and he also dealt with appendicitis. Lloyd was healthy when he reported to training camp this summer, but he injured his groin on July 28 before returning this week. If healthy, Lloyd could be the primary backup to starter Josh Jacobs. Otherwise, Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks are also vying for the role.
