Kyle Allen Out For The Season
Kyle Allen (ankle) is having surgery on the dislocated ankle that he suffered in the Week 9 loss to the division-rival Giants and he will be out for the rest of the season, according to a source. Allen is likely looking at a four-month recovery, but he should be ready in time for the 2021 season. He also had a small fracture in the ankle. In four starts this year, the 24-year-old went 60-for-87 for 610 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Veteran Alex Smith, who nearly had his career end due to a gruesome leg break in 2018, threw for 325 yards against the Giants in relief of Allen, but he also tossed three interceptions. It remains to be seen if Washington will go with Smith or Dwayne Haskins Jr. under center moving forward, but whoever it is should be considered only a low-end QB2.
