Justin Turner Getting A Breather Thursday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox infielder/designated hitter Justin Turner is taking the day off on Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles. Turner will take a seat in Baltimore after starting each of the team's last seven games. Masataka Yoshida is serving as the designated hitter and batting third, while Bobby Dalbec is at first base and hitting in the eight-hole against Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer. The 38-year-old Turner has had a pretty strong season in his first year in Beantown, slashing .274/.344/.455 with 23 home runs, 96 RBI, four stolen bases and 85 runs scored in 547 at-bats. He's tailed off considerably in the final month of the season, though, going 17-for-84 (.202) with only one homer, three doubles, nine RBI, 23 strikeouts and seven runs scored in 22 starts in September.
