Julio Teheran Signs Major-League Deal With Brewers
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers signed free-agent right-hander Julio Teheran to an undisclosed major-league deal on Tuesday. Teheran became eligible to sign with other teams after he opted out of his minor-league deal with the San Diego Padres on Monday. The 32-year-old veteran hurler hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2021 and had a 5.63 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, 16 walks and 45 strikeouts in eight starts (40 innings) for Triple-A El Paso this year in the minors. With the Brew Crew struggling to field a healthy starting rotation right now, Teheran could get an opportunity to serve as a short-term stopgap for the Brewers' rotation. It would give him immediate value in deep NL-only leagues, but fantasy managers in mixed leagues should continue to ignore him.
