Kansas City Chiefs rookie first-round offensive tackle Josh Simmons (knee) will be ready for full participation when the team kicks off training camp at the end of July, according to head coach Andy Reid. Simmons missed part of last year while at Ohio State with a torn patellar tendon in his knee, but the Chiefs still liked him enough to take him 32nd overall back in April's NFL draft. He was able to take part in non-contact OTA and minicamp practices, and the Chiefs are looking forward to seeing more from the 22-year-old this summer. Simmons will be competing with free-agent addition Jaylon Moore for the starting left tackle job this year, which means protecting star quarterback Patrick Mahomes' blind side. Simmons may not win the job outright heading into Week 1, but he's the future at the position for KC.--Keith Hernandez
