Josh Simmons has Wrist Surgery, Heading to Injured Reserve
Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons (wrist) underwent surgery on a dislocated and fractured wrist and will go on Injured Reserve, head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Wednesday. Simmons suffered the injury in the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Thursday and left the stadium in a cast, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It's a major loss for the Chiefs, who are battling for their playoff lives at the moment. In addition to Simmons' injury, KC also lost right guard Trey Smith (ankle) and offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor (elbow) due to injuries last Thursday. With Simmons now out for the rest of the season, the Chiefs will turn to either Wanya Morris or Jaylon Moore to protect quarterback Patrick Mahomes' blind side. The Chiefs' offense could have a very tough time this Sunday night against the Houston Texans and their No. 1 defense.
