Jeimer Candelario Returns Against Mets
2 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Jeimer Candelario (ankle) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against right-hander Tylor Megill and the New York Mets. He's starting at the hot corner and batting sixth in the lineup. Candelario hurt his ankle while sliding in Wednesday's game against the San Francisco Giants and had to be removed early, but he'll return to action on Friday after having Thursday off. The 29-year-old hasn't been much of a force offensively so far this year and has gone just 1-for-12 with a double in his last three games played. Overall, Candelario is hitting a weak .216 (30-for-139) with eight doubles, four home runs, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored in his first 35 games for the Nationals.
