3 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the Week 8 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will miss the rest of the season. Winston was always considered a one-year experiment and there are no guarantees after this season. The Athletic's Larry Holder doubts that Winston did enough prior to his season-ending injury to convince head coach Sean Payton that he can be the starter in New Orleans for the long term. Holder thinks the Saints will explore every avenue for a new QB in the offseason, potentially even considering trading for Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson. With Winston out the rest of the way, Taysom Hill is a strong candidate to take over under center once he clears the league's concussion protocols after missing the last two games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
