New England Patriots impending free-agent cornerback J.C. Jackson said that the team hasn't been in touch with him about a new contract since the end of the 2021 season. "I guess they feel like they don't need me," Jackson said. "I guess I can't be that important to them. I know I am, but they're not showing me." Jackson said he'd be open to playing the 2022 season on the franchise tag -- projected to be worth around $17 million for cornerbacks -- if the team decides to go that route. The 26-year-old made the Pro Bowl and was named a second-team All-Pro last year while finishing second in the league with eight interceptions. No player has more interceptions since 2018 than Jackson's 25, so the Patriots can't really afford to let him walk in free agency.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
