George Springer Reinstated From Paternity List
1 year agoThe Toronto Blue Jays reinstated outfielder George Springer and right-hander Jay Jackson from the paternity list on Monday and optioned second baseman Ernie Clement and right-hander Bowden Francis to Triple-A Buffalo in corresponding moves. Springer left the team for the birth of his child over the weekend and missed the last two games of the first half of the season. The 33-year-old finished the first half with a .269/.330/.422 slash line with 13 home runs, 12 doubles, a triple, 39 RBI, 13 stolen bases and 52 runs scored in 379 plate appearances over 87 games. He's off to a nice start in July, too, going 9-for-30 (.310) with two homers, a double, five RBI, a stolen base and six runs scored in six games, so fantasy managers will be hoping he can pick up where he left off this Friday in the series opener against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks.
