George Springer Making Great Progress
6 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer (hamstring) sprinted on Monday and said he was at 90 percent. He is expected to take batting practice on the field on Wednesday. Springer will need a minor league rehab assignment before he returns, but his progress is very encouraging for the Astros. Springer has been among the league leaders most of the season with his .308 average, 17 home runs, 41 runs, 43 RBI and four stolen bases, so his name has been in the MVP mix in the first half of the season. Derek Fisher and Jake Marisnick have been seeing a lot more playing time in Springer's absence.
