Evan Carter Could Hit Higher In Lineup In ALDS
1 year agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that he's considering moving rookie outfielder Evan Carter up in the batting order for the American League Division Series against the Baltimore Orioles. Carter hit ninth in each of the two games against the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild-card series this week and went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two RBI, three walks and two runs scored in eight plate appearances. "He handles himself so well," said Bochy. "He could go in the three-hole, or in the five-hole, or really anywhere in the lineup." The 21-year-old left-handed hitter played in just 23 big-league games in the regular season and went 19-for-62 (.306) with five homers, four doubles, a triple, 12 RBI, three stolen bases and 15 runs scored. Carter will be a sneaky DFS option in the Division Series if he's in the top half of the batting order.
