Corbin Carroll Getting an MRI on Left Hand
Corbin Carroll will get an MRI on his left hand tomorrow in Chicago. Per Lovullo, Carroll's hand is getting better, and he was an option to pinch-hit Sunday. Still, after the situation with Moreno, they want to be extra cautious, Steve Gilbert, beat writer for the Diamondbacks, reports. Carroll exited the contest on June 18 against the Toronto Blue Jays after being struck on the left hand by a pitch, and proceeded to sit the rest of the week. Initial X-rays came back negative, and the fact that he was available to pinch-hit on Sunday is an encouraging sign; however, being sent for an MRI after not playing for four consecutive days is less than ideal. Fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on news regarding MRI results. Tim Tawa and Randal Grichuk have been seeing additional playing time in Carroll's absence.
