Brandon Nimmo Battling Quad Injury, Out In Game 1
1 year agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (quadriceps) has been dealing with an unspecified injury near his left quadriceps muscle, which initially cost him time earlier this month. The Mets have been letting Nimmo play through the issue to an extent, but he's out of the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves. Manager Buck Showalter hopes to use Nimmo in left field for Game 2. Rafael Ortega is in center field in Game 1 and is hitting leadoff against Braves right-hander Allan Winans. Nimmo remains a solid source of runs and on-base percentage in fantasy, but he's been struggling of late, going 7-for-40 (.175) with no homers, a double, one RBI and four runs scored in 12 games (11 starts) since July 26.
