Bill O'Brien Heading Back To College Ranks
11 months agoOhio State is set to hire long-time NFL head coach Bill O'Brien as the school's new offensive coordinator, according to sources. O'Brien served as the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator in 2203 and has been the head coach of the Houston Texans as well as in the Big Ten at Penn State. Ohio State head coach Ryan Day can now give up play-calling duties in 2024, according to sources. O'Brien worked with Bryce Young at Alabama and Tom Brady and Deshaun Watson during some of their best seasons. In his seven years as an NFL head coach from 2014-20, O'Brien made the playoffs four times and led the Texans to a winning record five times. He was fired after an 0-4 start in 2020 and finished his tenure in Houston at 52-48. Brady won the NFL MVP with O'Brien as his QBs coach in 2010.
