Baker Mayfield To Play Through Torn Shoulder Labrum
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) has been wearing a shoulder harness to play after he suffered a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder on Sept. 19 against the Houston Texans, according to sources. No surgery is needed right now. Mayfield was listed on the injury report after the injury but hasn't missed a practice snap. The 26-year-old is proving his toughness, but it also helps that the labrum tear is to his non-throwing shoulder. He shouldn't be in any danger of missing any games due to the injury, and it shouldn't really have any negative impact on his performance moving forward. Mayfield did have only 155 passing yards in the Week 4 win over the Minnesota Vikings, but he said the shoulder wasn't to blame. He'll be a low-end QB2 against an improved Las Vegas Raiders defense in Week 5.
