2 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels are among the teams that have checked in on free-agent Japanese starting pitcher Kodai Senga, joining the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers, among others, according to sources. The 29-year-old right-hander will have a robust market this offseason without a posting fee after he opted out of his deal with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in order to become an international free agent. The Angels are in desperate need of pitching help, so landing Senga would be a big move, and Japanese two-way sensation Shohei Ohtani could help in recruiting Senga to Anaheim. Senga has been dominant in his 11 seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball, possessing a heater that can reach 100 mph and a wipeout splitter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
