Andrew Cashner Delivers First Quality Start For Boston
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Andrew Cashner went 6 2/3 innings, while allowing three runs on 10 hits to go with six strikeouts and one walk in Friday's win over the Yankees. The 32-year-old had gotten rocked in his first two starts since becoming a member of the Red Sox, so it was good to see him perform against a tough lineup. Keeping the ball in the yard will be key to his success moving forward. The last four starts in which he allowed at least one home run, he also gave up at least four runs in those outings. He'll get another tough matchup on Thursday when he faces off with the Tampa Bay Rays, but they're losers of three of their last 10. You can start him, but know there is a chance things go south if he allows a homer.
