Minnesota Twins shortstop Andrelton Simmons (ankle) is back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against Oakland. Simmons sat out a game with inflammation in his right ankle, though it was never regarded as a serious issue. He'll resume his usual position as the starting shortstop and will bat eighth against Frankie Montas. Simmons is batting .241 with 10 runs scored and a 17:11 strikeout-to-walk ratio.--Tim Capurso
