1 year agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah (shoulder), who was demoted twice to the minor leagues in 2023 due to poor performance and injury, wanted to receive injections to address his undisclosed shoulder injury late in the season. Manoah ended up making only 19 starts for Toronto, going 3-9 with a 5.97 ERA in 87 1/3 innings. It was even more mind-boggling after the former first-rounder had a breakout season the year prior over 31 starts. The 25-year-old hasn't made any public comments since the season ended, but the Jays continue to say that he's in their future plans. There will be a rotation spot for Manoah in 2024, but he may be at odds with the front office after he was demoted twice this year. Regardless, Manoah's fantasy stock heading into 2024 has fallen precipitously after his struggles this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
