Aledmys Diaz Works Out Tuesday
6 years agoHouston Astros infielder Aledmys Diaz (hamstring) took ground balls and batting practice on Tuesday, one day after running in the outfield. Diaz will need a minor league rehab assignment before returning, but he should rejoin the team soon. The 28-year-old has been solid as a utility infielder for Houston in his first season with them, slashing .286/.321/.510 with five home runs, 17 runs and 22 RBI in 98 at-bats. He should go back to being a utility infielder when both Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa are back from their injured list stints. Houston has been mixing and matching with Alex Bregman, Jack Mayfield and Tony Kemp up the middle of late.
