Outfield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 8 (2025)

Ceddanne Rafaela - fantasy baseball draft sleepers DFS MLB injury news

Frank's outfield fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 8 of 2025 (May 19 through May 25). Consider picking up and streaming these free-agent outfielders.

On this page, you'll read my Week 8 fantasy baseball outfielder waiver wire pickups, which focus on games from May 19 to May 25 of the 2025 MLB season. This week is highlighted by outfielders with seven-game schedules for next week, including Ceddanne Rafaela and Jorge Soler.

The players included in this article are a combination of standard formats and deeper leagues, using roster percentages from Yahoo! (11-50 percent for shallow leagues, 10 percent or less for deeper leagues).

These outfielder waiver wire pickups are either one-week streamers or a dart throw at season-long value. With that in mind, let's dive into my Week 8 fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues

Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox (50% rostered)

Coming into Saturday's action, Ceddanne Rafaela is slashing .311/.340/.467 in May. The elite defensive center fielder hasn't shown it this month (0 HR, 0 SB), but there's a 15 HR/25 SB type of upside in this bat.

What's great about Rafaela this week is that the Red Sox have seven games, with three against the Mets and four vs. the Orioles.

Rafaela has four multi-hit games in his last nine, so perhaps he can keep it rolling with this favorable schedule.

Jorge Soler, Los Angeles Angels (32% rostered)

Soler hasn't gotten going for the Angels yet, as highlighted by a .221/.293/.396 slash with six home runs in 41 games coming into Saturday, but we all know about his 35+ HR upside.

The Angels have seven games on tap this week, taking on the Athletics for four and the Marlins for three. What's great is that the A's series is on the road, so Soler will get to hit in a homer-friendly bandbox.

Maybe this could be a time when Soler can get a power binge going, given the exploitable matchup.

JJ Bleday, Athletics (25% rostered)

Bleday has been underwhelming for fantasy, including a .212/.202/.391 slash with six home runs and one stolen base, but the schedule looks good this week.

The A's have seven games, each at home in a hitter-friendly environment, giving Bleday a chance to get going in the power department.

It's also worth noting that Bleday has two homers in his last four games, making him worth a look as a one-week streamer.

Ryan O'Hearn, Baltimore Orioles (23% rostered)

O'Hearn currently sports a .304/.394/.522 slash with seven home runs in 34 games. The O's veteran has crushed righties with a .309/.398/.553 slash, which is good news for this week.

That's because the Orioles have seven games, each against right-handed pitchers. This includes four games at Fenway Park, so we could see O'Hearn get rolling this week.

Don't be surprised if O'Hearn hits at least two homers with this favorable schedule.

Jordan Beck, Colorado Rockies (18% rostered)

Beck has slowed down after a torrid hot streak, going 1-for-13 in his last four games. However, you have to love the power-speed profile here, as highlighted by six homers and five steals in only 34 games.

The best part about picking up Beck this week is that the Rockies have seven games at home. Playing in hitter-friendly Coors Field is a great way to boost your counting stats.

Beck is likely to get back on track at home, and you'll want him on your team if that happens.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Deeper Leagues

Daulton Varsho, Toronto Blue Jays (10% rostered)

Varsho continues to be under-rostered in Yahoo! leagues, which has made him a fixture in this article. The Blue Jays' center fielder has six homers in only 13 games since returning from injury.

While Varsho only has one stolen base so far, we've seen him get to 16 steals in the past, so expect to see some speed production as well.

The Blue Jays have six games this week, but Varsho is a long-term play because it seems that he's rediscovered his form. Remember that he put up 27 HR and 16 SB in 2022.

Jake Meyers, Houston Astros (9% rostered)

Meyers has been a nice source of speed this season, including seven stolen bases in 43 games. The Astros' center fielder came into Saturday with two multi-hit games in his last five.

Houston has a nice schedule coming up, with seven games: three in a hitter-friendly environment in Tampa Bay and four against the Mariners at home.

If you need a boost in speed, pick up Meyers, especially because he gets everyday playing time, suiting up in 17 consecutive games.

Max Kepler, Philadelphia Phillies (5% rostered)

Kepler is slashing .220/.302/.383 with five homers in 41 games, but this upcoming week could be a time where he provides counting stats with some power.

The Phillies have seven games on tap, including four at Coors Field, making Kepler worth a look as a one-week streamer.

If that's not enough, the other three games are in another bandbox in Sacramento to take on the Athletics.

Miguel Andujar, Athletics (4% rostered)

Andujar is starting to pick it up for the Athletics, featuring a respectable .314/.341/.438 slash with three homers in 33 games. The A's veteran came into Saturday on a five-game hitting streak.

Up next are seven games, four against the Angels and three against the Phillies. The best part is that each of these is at home in the bandbox that is Sutter Health Park.

This gives Andujar a great chance to provide a boost in batting average, power, and counting stats for your fantasy teams this week.

Heston Kjerstad, Baltimore Orioles (4% rostered)

Kjerstad is currently slashing .219/.272/.362 with four homers in 38 games, which is not much to get excited about. But let's remember that this is a hitter with prospect pedigree, so give him some time in deeper leagues.

What I like about Kjerstad this week is the schedule, with the Orioles facing seven righties. Each of Kjerstad's four homers has come vs. right-handers.

This gives the young outfielder a chance to go on a power binge. Perhaps the O's will start to give him more playing time now that Brandon Hyde has been dismissed as manager.
