Outfield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 6 (2025)

Michael Toglia - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Frank's outfield fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 6 of 2025 (May 5 through May 11). Consider picking up and streaming these free-agent outfielders.

On this page, you'll read my Week 6 fantasy baseball outfielder waiver wire pickups, which target games from May 5 to May 11 of the 2025 MLB season. This week, the Colorado Rockies are the main highlights, with three players on this list, including Michael Toglia, Jordan Beck, and Mickey Moniak.

The recommendations included in this article are a combination of standard formats and deeper leagues, using roster percentages from Yahoo! (11-50 percent for shallow leagues, 10 percent or less for deeper leagues).

These outfielder waiver wire pickups can be one-week streamers or provide season-long value. With that in mind, let's dive into my Week 6 fantasy baseball outfielder waiver wire pickups.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Standard Leagues

Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Arizona Diamondbacks (43% rostered)

Gurriel came into Saturday's action on a 13-for-44 (.295 BA) stretch with four runs, one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base in his last 11 games. While the veteran outfielder mostly hits in the sixth or seventh spot in the D-Backs' lineup, he's got a favorable schedule for this week.

Arizona plays all seven games at home, with three matchups vs. the Mets and four against the Dodgers. The D-Backs have been much better at home, registering a 121 wRC+ (fifth) compared to 101 wRC+ on the road (10th). We could see Arizona put up some runs this week, especially vs a depleted Dodgers rotation. Gurriel should be able to provide a strong batting average with some counting stats in this spot.

Jorge Soler, Los Angeles Angels (39% rostered)

Soler is finally starting to show off his elite power, homering twice in his last three games entering the Saturday slate. The veteran slugger has hit safely in eight of his last 11 matchups, so this could be the start of a power binge. It also helps that the Angels will play each of their six games at home this week, where Soler has three homers in only 11 games.

Looking at Soler's batted ball metrics, we see some encouraging signs, highlighted by a 14.5% barrel rate, which ranks in the 81st percentile, per Baseball Savant. This player has hit leadoff, third, and cleanup this year, so there should be plenty of opportunities to rack up RBI. Pick up Soler if your league mate hastily dropped him.

Michael Toglia, Colorado Rockies (34% rostered)

Toglia has been a disappointment this season, slashing .205/.244/.330 with three home runs and two stolen bases. However, we're seeing some signs of life, including a 9-for-33 (.273 BA) stretch with two runs, two homers, seven RBI, and one steal in his last nine games. The best is yet to come for Toglia, with this week looking like a great spot.

The Rockies play all six of their games at Coors Field this week, including three vs the Tigers and three vs the Padres. Toglia has a .309/.345/.491 slash with two homers at home this season. There's a reasonable chance we could see a breakout week from the 26-year-old in this favorable spot.

Pavin Smith, Arizona Diamondbacks (29% rostered)

Smith is a strong-side platoon bat who has a .338/.466/.634 slash against righties this season, which is good news because six of the D-Backs' seven games are vs. right-handers this week. As mentioned above in the Gurriel write-up, Arizona's offense performs much better at home, so Smith should have plenty of opportunities to put up counting stats.

We've seen Smith mostly hit in the three spot for the D-Backs, which puts him in a good position for strong production. According to Baseball Savant, Smith has performed well above league average in xwOBA in his last 100 plate appearances, so pick him up for this favorable schedule.

Jordan Beck, Colorado Rockies (26% rostered)

Beck is in this column for the second consecutive week because he still needs to be rostered in more Yahoo! leagues. This outfielder has suited up in 11 straight games for the Rockies, including eight games in a row in the two-spot. That's excellent news for Beck since the Rockies have six games at Coors Field this week.

According to Baseball Savant, the 24-year-old outfielder has impressive batted ball metrics, as highlighted by a 20.0% barrel rate, which ranks in the 97th percentile. What's even more intriguing is that Beck ranks in the 83rd percentile in bat speed, so there's a chance that we could be witnessing a potential breakout here rather than merely a hot streak.

Fantasy Baseball Outfield Waiver Wire Adds - Deeper Leagues

Gavin Sheets, San Diego Padres (7% rostered)

Sheets has been a nice pickup for the Padres, as the veteran has a .283/.343/.461 slash with 11 runs, four homers, 14 RBI, and one steal in 99 plate appearances. This is a strong-side platoon bat with a 136 wRC+ against righties this season, so you want to have him in your lineup against a right-hander.

The Padres have six games in favorable hitting environments this week, including three at Yankee Stadium and three at Coors Field. The only issue is that San Diego faces two lefties vs the Yankees, but the park factor makes him worth a look, especially with three righties on tap against the Rockies.

Miguel Vargas, Chicago White Sox (4% rostered)

Vargas is starting to swing a hot bat, going 13-for-31 (.419 BA) with six runs, two homers, and six RBI in his last nine games coming into Saturday. The 25-year-old hitter is also eligible for third base and has been hitting anywhere from leadoff to ninth during this hot streak.

Expect Vargas to hit at the top of the order throughout this upcoming week while he continues to look good at the plate. The White Sox have seven games this week, including four at the Royals and three vs the Marlins. Fire up Vargas to take advantage of this hot bat with a favorable schedule.

Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates (3% rostered)

McCutchen is a sneaky pickup because the veteran has been entrenched in the three spot for the Pirates, being an asset in on-base percentage leagues with a .356 OBP on the season. The Pirates have six games this week, including two against lefties, which is good news for McCutchen since he has a .803 OPS vs left-handers this year.

The veteran has gone 14-for-48 (.292 BA) with five runs, two homers, seven RBI, and one steal in his last 12 games. Give him a shot if you're in a deeper league, especially if you have OBP instead of BA as a category.

Zach Dezenzo, Houston Astros (1% rostered)

Dezenzo has suited up in six of eight games heading into Saturday's action, going 6-for-24 (.250 BA) with two runs and one RBI in seven games. The appeal here is that Dezenzo is a 24-year-old with a 139 wRC+ across all minor league levels last year. With Cam Smith struggling, there's an opportunity for Dezenzo to earn some playing time.

In other words, this isn't necessarily a bet on current form but on potential long-term value. The Astros have six games this week, three against the Brewers and three against the Reds.

Mickey Moniak, Colorado Rockies (1% rostered)

Here we have a sneaky pickup in Moniak with the Rockies playing six games at Coors. This is a veteran lefty with a .706 career OPS vs righties (.488 vs LHP), which is good news because Colorado plays five righties this week. We could see Moniak put up some solid production considering this favorable schedule.

This is only a recommendation for deeper leagues (15+ teams) with five outfielders. Consider Moniak a streamer with the Rockies at Coors.
