NASCAR DFS Prop Picks: Toyota Owners 400 - Monkey Knife Fight

Sunday afternoon features the Toyota Owners 400 from Richmond Raceway. Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, William Byron, and Joey Logano will make up the top five to start the race. Monkey Knife Fight has an extremely easy fantasy point system: 0.1 points for each lap led and then a set amount of points for their position (20 for 1st place, 19 for 2nd place, 18 for 3rd, and so on).

Our friends at Monkey Knife Fight offer some of the coolest, and easiest to win, NASCAR DFS games in the industry. If you haven't checked out these games yet, you can start this weekend! There are no massive tournaments where you have to get ridiculously lucky just to cash because, at MKF, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the betting line, and the dudes at MKF have fallen all over themselves to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a $50 deposit bonus.

We'll be helping you along every day and night where there's a race, by providing you with expert prop picks all NASCAR season long here at RotoBaller.

Pick 1: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)

Recommended Prop Pick: Chase Elliott MORE 15.5 Fantasy Points and Kyle Larson MORE 14.5 Fantasy Points

Elliott and Larson are projected to be two of the higher fantasy point producers at Richmond and we are fortunate to have both right off the bat but...

Elliott is getting closer and closer to winning a race in 2021. He finished tenth at Bristol on the dirt and was near the top-five for solid stretches of that race. He followed that up by nearly winning at Martinsville last week finishing around two seconds behind Martin Truex Jr. He has the Chevy and the Hendrick Motorsports driver starts third this Sunday at Richmond. He could lead some laps as well and those tenths of a point could make a difference. Any race features some risk with place volatility as Chase Elliott has found out defending a Cup Series championship is harder than it looks. Take the MORE.

For a driver like Kyle Larson, consistency has been vital. Aside from his issues at Bristol, Larson has finished no lower than seventh since the Daytona double. Also, he had a top-five result at Martinsville which bodes well at Richmond. He knows how to drive the 14-degree banks as well as anyone. The only question is can he lead a few laps? Starting sixth may help there as the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver drew the 19th position last week.  The 14.5 point total means just finishing sixth would be enough here. That is a reasonable expectation. Again, take the MORE here.

This all boils down to wrecks once more (no weather issues) but these two drivers tend to avoid the latter better than most which are why we are bullish for the Toyota Owners 400.

Pick 2: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)

Recommended Prop Pick: Brad Keselowski MORE 16.5 Fantasy Points, Joey Logano MORE 15.5 Fantasy Points

This prop scares us to death on Saturday evening because both drivers could easily win this race but could also crash out. Keselowski has 15 to 2 odds to win at Richmond and Logano is at 17 to 2. Remember, both of these drivers excel on short tracks and have fared quite well on the 3/4 mile track.

The lesson learned last week was that there were so many cautions that favored Denny Hamlin to lead 276 laps in all. If there are that many yellow flags on Sunday, will that hurt Logano a bit even with his propensity to lead laps at Bristol. Then, there is Keselowski, who starts 20th. The Team Penske driver has led 30+ laps in his past five races at Richmond including winning in 2020.

These point totals are high because of projection. They are also high because both drivers are almost masterful on short tracks like Richmond. This is a bit different than Martinsville last week but there is a lot of the same. It boils down to positioning and timing. Joey Logano finished third last year and the prospect of 400 laps has us more bullish than usual on Sunday.
