NASCAR DFS Prop Picks: EchoPark Texas Grand Prix - Monkey Knife Fight

Sunday afternoon features the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix from Circuit Of The Americas. William Byron, Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, and Chase Elliott made up the top five from the rain-soaked Saturday practice session. Monkey Knife Fight has an extremely easy fantasy point system: 0.1 points for each lap led and then a set amount of points for their position (20 for 1st place, 19 for 2nd place, 18 for 3rd, and so on).

Our friends at Monkey Knife Fight offer some of the coolest, and easiest to win, NASCAR DFS games in the industry. If you haven't checked out these games yet, you can start this weekend! There are no massive tournaments where you have to get ridiculously lucky just to cash because, at MKF, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the betting line, and the dudes at MKF have fallen all over themselves to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a $50 deposit bonus.

Pick 1: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)

Recommended Prop Pick: Chase Elliott LESS 19.5 Fantasy Points and Martin Truex Jr. LESS 17.5 Fantasy Points

Elliott and Truex Jr. are expected to be two of the better fantasy point producers at Austin on Sunday and we are fortunate to have both leading off here but...

Chase Elliott just cannot quite stay in that pocket that we have referred to. Now, he was fifth in Saturday's practice session. It will be interesting to see how the qualifying session goes later this morning (11 am ET). Also, how many waves of rain will douse the track during the race which starts around 3:00 pm ET. Most are banking on the previous results of what Elliott has done on road courses (5 wins in 13 races). The Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver has led a ton of laps as well. Elliott's problem is that other drivers on his own team may be as fast or faster. The bet is to take the LESS here in the hopes that the laps led are more spread out than projected.

For a driver like Martin Truex Jr., Dover represented a correction of sorts. Everything that could go wrong did as Truex Jr. found himself a lap down. It seemed the harder he tried, the worse things got. It was just one of those races where you chalk it up to a bad time and move on. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver did not have that good of a practice session and again the wildcard is how that translates into qualifying. The uncertainty makes one hesitant about a higher point projection. Even 17.5 seems a little high given the unpredictability of this race. The No. 19 may have some issues getting to the front enough. Can he finish in the top three or lead enough laps? Those are both questions that have too many negatives compared to positives. Take the LESS here on Sunday afternoon.

This all boils down to wrecks mostly (do watch for humid and rainy conditions) for the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix.

Pick 2: More or Less Fantasy Points (2/2)

Recommended Prop Pick: Denny Hamlin LESS 16.5 Fantasy Points, Kyle Larson MORE 15.5 Fantasy Points

This prop is rough because of where the drivers may start on Sunday at Austin. Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson may not have had great practice sessions but qualifying and the race itself are two different animals.

Denny Hamlin has nine top-five finishes in 13 races in 2021 but has not cracked into the win column yet. Does he press too hard again or does the leader of the Cup Series just race his race? If he plays it smart, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will likely hit the over with some laps led and a top-five finish. If he takes too many risks, that LESS looks more and more likely by the lap. For as good as Hamlin has looked, things did not go quite as well as planned at Dover. Hamlin ranks well on the road and maybe the rainy conditions slow things down enough to neutralize the Hendrick Motorsports Racing power just enough Sunday afternoon. Take the MORE here.

These point totals are intriguing when it comes to Kyle Larson too. Larson could potentially win the race and may even lead a decent number of laps. The latter is the hope here with the No. 5 enjoying a nice build and very good practice session. Larson adapts to every type of race very well -- almost too well. A top-five result is very attainable and that alone would give him 16+ points. That is enough for the MORE and honestly, Larson has the potential to easily exceed that 15.5 point prop assigned to the driver for Sunday afternoon in Texas.
