Marcus Mariota is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for quarterbacks. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: A former No. 2 pick, Marcus Mariota has never been the type to boom in fantasy. He is mostly an efficient but uninspiring game manager with some rushing upside.
Mariota has played exactly that type of game over his first two games with Atlanta, throwing for 215 yards in Week 1 and 196 in Week 2. The rushing numbers buoyed him against New Orleans when he ran for 72 yards and a TD but that was absent against the Rams.
Keeping in mind that he won't face nearly as tough of defense in Seattle next week, Mariota should have enough appeal to be a solid and safe streaming option.
At least you can rest assured that he will not be usurped of the starting-QB role for the time being, which is not nothing to say for a mediocre quarterback in a less-than-mediocre team with a rookie waiting in the wings.
