LPL DFS Picks for 4/13/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL slate on 4/13/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back to my League of Legends DFS column here at RotoBaller! We will continue to extend our analysis for LoL DFS across different leagues and sites, bringing you the insight you need to succeed. Thanks once again for the outpouring of support from the DFS and ESports communities!

With three more games on the docket tonight in the LPL, and the LCS and LEC playoffs in full swing, it's an excellent time for ESports DFS enthusiasts like myself. The number of contests on FanDuel and DraftKings continues to grow. There are three LPL matches that grace the slate tonight.

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 3:00 AM on Monday, April 13th, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

LPL Matches

3:00 AM: OMG vs. eStar (-200)

Each team presents a challenge for the other in that they are each other's kryptonite. Think of this as a striker vs. grappler matchup in MMA. OMG wants to point fight from the outside landing strategic shots and slowly picking eStar apart by grabbing up all the objectives and playing slow controlled league. Estar, however, wants to get this fight to the mat and make it scrappy and dirty in a hurry.

Estar does a great job of transitioning won team fights into objectives; ironically, they will achieve what OMG aims to but by using a completely different approach. Estar will get this fight to the ground and finish OMG rather quickly I think they sweep here, but I think OMG's style will limit the upside of eStar in this one. OMG only average 16.25 deaths per loss; they prefer to lose gracefully instead of going out on their shields.

On a three-game slate, though, I think they will be the least popular favorite due to their pricing. Paying up to be contrarian could be a nice play off the perceived TES chalk. Maybe we will see OMG able to fend off the takedown attempts from eStar and come out on top, but for my money were looking at a sweep by the youngsters.

Wei - JNG ($7,400)

The jungler leads this scrappy eStar roster in KP%, and he holds a significant lead over H4cker in vision stats. He should be the first one to the play, and if not, he will know of it due to his ability to track H4cker's movements. He has been clean with his objective play as well, so we shouldn't see any bizarre steals or other mishaps that can throw a player mentally in the bin.

Cryin - ADC ($8,000)

Estar's mid lane stud leads the slate in DKP per game, but his underlying stats back that up. He is second to Wei on the team with 76.5% KP and leads the team with a 31.3% kill share. Cryin has been dominant on Azir, and other later game carries. I look for them to draft safety and scaling champs for Cryin, and after his performance on the Kassadin, last time out OMG will likely be forced to ban it away.

5:00 AM: LNG vs. RNG (-500)

With LNG finally shaking up their starting lineup, it's clear to me that they are starting to look towards the summer split as a reset. Chenlun17 in the top lane instead of Flandre seems pretty desperate to me, especially considering what they need is a better mid-jungle duo.

This match is the spot for Royal to get off of their slide, which they desperately need. They are now in danger of falling out of the playoffs.

LangX - TOP ($6,400)

The former SNG stalwart LangX is showing the form that made him such a big pickup for this RNG lineup last summer. He is second in the league in KP% among full-time top-laners in addition to that the fact that his lane opponent Chenlun17 will be starting his first match with the main squad. I often like to attack positions of instability, and if LangX blows up Chen in game one, I wouldn't be surprised to see Flandre back in for game 2.

XLB - JNG ($6,600)

XLB has struggled in his last two matches vs. the likes of Peanut and Haro. He will receive a reprieve in this match vs. XX. Haro and Peanut are two of the top three junglers in the league in kill share, and they are both true carries from the jungle position, so you can see why XLB had trouble with them.

6:00 AM V5 vs. Top Esports (-5000)

No analysis needed here, JACKEY IS BACK BABY! Seriously though, we've got TES versus the worst team in league with Jackeylove coming in at a discount. Just like RNG, TES finds themselves in a great get right sport here vs. the worst team in any league V5.

V5 average nearly 20 deaths in losses, they tend to start strong and get lost in the mid-game. Hard not to love this spot. It won't be a secret TES will be the chalk of all chalk. Given that ownership, Karsa's struggles, and the idea to attack instability it's not crazy to take a small shot on V5 here.

TES do average 21.5 deaths in their losses, so a V5 stack offers zero safety but very high upside and leverage. Just know any money you push in on V5 is being lit on fire.

Jackeylove - ADC ($7,400)

Kasia is back, and so is Jackey. I look for TES to do anything they can to get Jackey rolling, including spending valuable draft capital on his favorite champion. His arrival hurts Knight a bit as well as 369, but I think it helps Karsa giving him more options and a likely winning bot side. A surprise Draven pick here could happen as well.

YuYanjia - SUP ($5,400)

Stack him up with Jackey, and at the backup prices, you can't go wrong. He hasn't been strong in the big leagues this year, but with a chance to go in vs. this V5 squad, you can't miss here. His favorite pick is the Thresh, and just for comfort, I expect to see it here, and it will be an excellent match for Jackey. Jackeylove often goes a little too far forward, assuming he can outplay any scenario, and he will be glad of the lantern line to safety on Monday.

Summary

This week of crazy upsets continued on Sunday, and I hear I am picking all the favorites for Monday. Gen G losing might have been the craziest of all the upsets.

My favorite stack for everything is going to be TES, and it should be everyone else's too. RNG is also sitting pretty vs. an LNG squad that averages 18 deaths in losses. Estar's matchup and pricing will push people off of them, making them the most contrarian favorite. Omg have the closest odds of any of the dogs, and likely will be somewhat popular to try to get some more Jackeylove Captian lineups.

Minus 5000 is an insane number for TES on Monday and its that pure insanity that makes me want to shoot my shot on V5. They're not winning, but they've got a chance to sneak a game and pay off their nonexistent prices.
