LPL DFS Picks for 6/13/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL slates on 6/13/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

LPL's summer split is in full swing, and it has been quite an eventful one already. We've got a week yet until the LCK joins us in the early morn. Thes two-game slates have been tough so far, but I remain determined to nail these slates for our readers and study these squads as we've had a few surprises already this split.

Yesterday we saw RNG get us again, and I have had it up to here with their Jekyll and Hyde act. Not gonna let it get me down because we're back into the action tonight with two really interesting matches and I think we can find some leverage on this slate.

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 5:00 AM on Saturday, June 13th, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

5:00 AM: Victory 5 vs. LGD (-245)

V5, the best team in the LPL (it's got a real ring to it), and it goes to show how this Spring split is playing out. Very surprising, that's how, and now we see both of these new-look squads face off. We've seen this V5 side in action twice, and they've won both of their previous matchups against two bottom-tier teams in the LPL. LGD are 1-0 right now with a less than impressive victory on their own. They beat an excellent eStar team, but it came on the heels of a game one loss. Estar then swapped their starting top-laner out, and LGD put LangX back in the top lane too. They then quickly went 2-0 for the reverse sweep. Even with the bizarre swaps, I like the LGD win a bit more than the V5 ones.

As much fun as the memes can be, in all seriousness, V5 should be happy with finishing middle of the pack this split, and LGD should compete for a playoff spot or even better. Peanut should be able to pressure out Weiwei in the jungle, and even if not, Kramer will be there to carry. This matchup should be the better of the two tonight for fantasy purposes, and I want my big stacks from this side. I believe LGD is the superior squad, and I'd look for them to take the 2-1 win in this one. This game is a hedge play for me, though, and I like stacking up V5 in GPPs for Saturday mornings slate.

Top LGD Plays:

  • Peanut - JNG
  • Kramer -ADC
  • Mark - SUP
  • LangX - TOP

Top V5 Plays:

  • SamD - ADC
  • ppgod - SUP
  • Mole - MID
  • weiwei - JNG

7:00 AM: OMG vs. EDG (-290)

The upset season rolls on, and with my stone-cold dead set love for EDG here, I'm prepared to eat yet more crow on Saturday morning. OMG haven't beaten this EDG squad since 2017, and I doubt they do today either. We've seen OMG be extremely passive, like a much less talented IG, they mill about the map trying to farm up and win team fights. We've seen proactive teams fare so much better this season, and unless they change it up big time, they are headed for a disappointing season. In Spring OMG had the second-lowest drake percentages in the league behind the record-setting bad V5. EDG, on the other hand, has been very active early, leading the league in rift herald takes and gold differential at 15 minutes. Both are very telling stats for early game dominance, and OMG are not proactive enough to answer those early calls from the side of EDG. If OMG does win, it's likely on the back of Smlz on Aphelios and some more heavy scaling comps.

EDG is expected to give it up as they have prioritized Kalista to help their early objective control. So I like EDG here, but OMG could very well grab a game or even the series if EDG can't finish off their early leads. If OMG does so, we could see JunJia subbed out again as he was in their loss to WE. I like the matchup for him, but you'll have to gauge your risk aversion tolerance with the possibility of swaps.

Top EDG Plays:

  • Scout - MID
  • JunJia - JNG
  • Hope - ADC
  • EDG Team slot

Summary

  1. The first game set should be the most attractive option for fantasy plays. I like my full stack to come from that series while targeting small stacks and team slots from the other.
  2.  FD pricing is stable tonight; again, I think its top lane or bust with the one-offs from the other teams. You don't lose a lot in terms of opportunity cost vs. different positions.
  3. No dog is too low anymore. No favorite is too high, and I'm going to stick with my picks on the favs in these two matchups. With such notable upsets this early in the season, I think we'll soon reach a saturation point where rostering the favorites will be the contrarian play. I talked about it on video this morning letting others make mistakes this especially rings true in single entry and three to five max tournaments.
