LPL DFS Picks for 6/12/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL slates on 6/12/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

It's Thursday night and it's time for some more League of Legends DFS action! Here at RotoBaller, we love Esports and I love that so many people have come to love LOL over the last few months (that's a lot of love, I know). I'm committed to breaking down every LPL and LPL/LCK slate for you in this Summer split and I have yet to miss a day (team #nodaysoff).

LPL's summer split is in full swing, and it has been quite an eventful one already. We've got a week yet until the LCK joins us in the early morn. Yesterday we saw IG get swept 2-0 by a surging WE team and I'm glad I had hedged my exposure to that game. As I mentioned in yesterday's article, IG is such a talented team but the way they play they leave themselves vulnerable to good teams as it caught up with them last night. Estar dominated Dominus as we expected, so no surprise there.

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 5:00 AM on Friday, June 12th, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

5:00 AM: Royal Never Give Up (-575) vs. Li-Ning Gaming

Both of our NG teams here are coming off seemingly impressive wins, but I think one speaks more than the other. We saw LNG takedown FPX who was a massive favorite in that match, while RNG dusted off an impressive VG squad with relative ease. The LNG upset doesn't do too much for me since FPX played with an Invictus level of disrespect and discordancy. We can discuss that more later, but the RNG win needs immediate attention. When we last saw this squad in the spring, they were backing unceremoniously into the playoffs, then bowing out quickly.

They began the spring split looking like world beaters, their jungler XLB especially so, but then they started an almost inexplicable downward spiral. Their drafting and setups deteriorated overnight, and we were left wondering which team RNG was. VG is just the kind of team that should have feasted on the slump version of RNG, and in fact, I thought they would, but RNG dusted them off in a quick clean 2-0. They look like a top-tier team in the LPL, much like the early spring version.

Xiaohu could keep Cryin on the bench for the rest of summer, and New looks completely renewed on this RNG squad. XLB showed terrific coordination with his laners, and tremendous patience with his gank timings. RNG should roll LNG in this matchup. We saw LNG capitalize on the mistakes FPX made, which is a plus for them as it shows us they can win games when given advantage.

As good as RNG looked, LNG will need to get out on the map and create their advantage, and that's a bridge too far for me. RNG sweep this matchup, and I don't think it's particularly close.

Top RNG Plays:

  • XLB - JNG
  • Betty - MID
  • Ming - SUP
  • RNG TEAM SLOT

7:00 AM: Fun Plus Phoenix (-575) vs. BLG

LPL schedule makers are not doing me any favors by putting FPX back in the docket so soon after their debacle. I'm mostly over the sting of not entering any hedge lineups and ready to face a new challenge. FPX themselves are probably itching to get out here and restore their reputation a bit.

LNG was able to capitalize on the multitudinous mistakes of FPX, and the Weiyan gang trackers resurfaced on Twitter to talk about conspiracies. Lwx was especially guilty of greeding for farm with no knowledge of where the enemy team was, up to and including ignoring Doinb's missing pings from mid versus a Gallio. Damn near unforgivable, but we need to forgive and forget here quickly.

Narratives aside, I think the curious decision to not play Meteor is going to cost BLG another series. 13est16 wasn't very sharp or impactful in his LPL return, and he was unable to create any meaningful leads on either Graves or Olaf. BLG also had a particularly awful failed dive top that derailed game two for them. Poor timing and coordination allowed VG to turn the situation and break a close game open.

Fun Plus has dominated the recent history in this matchup, and that was with Meteor in the lineup. I like FPX to bounce back here from their embarrassing loss and take this one 2-0. BLG stacks on the comeback could be very nice much like LNG the other day as FPX team fights don't look nearly as good from behind.

Top FPX Plays:

  • Khan - TOP
  • Doinb - MID
  • Lwx - ADC
  • FPX TEAM SLOT

Summary

  1. These games will be very close in scoring with some of the slower LPL teams in action. If you're shooting your shot with the underdogs, I'd go all in and full-stack the dog.
  2.  For the favorites, I'll slightly favor the RNG side for kills over that of FPX because LNG is a bit more likely to go down swinging.
  3. FD pricing is solid tonight, and I might look to Kingen for a one-off if stacking favorites. He has solid kill stats and BLG has looked to feature him in their drafts. If they take a game he should post a good scoreline, and if not you don't lose too much by not having one of the other tops.
