Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL slate on 4/14/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back to my League of Legends DFS column here at RotoBaller! We will continue to extend our analysis for LoL DFS across different leagues and sites, bringing you the insight you need to succeed. Thanks once again for the outpouring of support from the DFS and ESports communities!

With three more games on the docket tonight in the LPL, and the LCS and LEC playoffs in full swing, it's an excellent time for ESports DFS enthusiasts like myself. The number of contests on FanDuel and DraftKings continues to grow. There are three LPL matches that grace the slate tonight.

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

LPL Matches

2:00 AM: Rogue Warriors vs. Jingdong Gaming (-500)

JDG currently holds the fourth spot in the league and is looking to stay hot since the return of Zoom to the top-lane. The suddenly resurgent RW squad are trying to make their first playoff appearance since 2018, albeit with a completely remade team.

Since the Weiyan incident, RW has won three of four matches, with their only loss being a narrow 2-1 to the side of TES. They have impressive wins over BLG, VG, and RNG in this streak. JDG will have noted advantages in lane and out with superior CSM, gold generation, objective control, and vision. The key to RW's run has been Haro; he leads all LPL junglers in kill share and is second in KP% to Kanavi.

JDG's jungler will need to match the pressure Haro has been putting on the map, and I believe he will. The two have very similar stats, but Kanavi has maintained his throughout the full split. Kanavi will also have the advantage of better and more experienced laners to set up for ganks and be ready for counter ganks. JDG should be able to handle Haro's aggression and turn him and RW away with a 2-1 victory here.

RW gets a game just due to the scrappy nature of the LPL, but that doesn't lower my expectations for the ability of JDG to score here. RW average 21.5 deaths in their losses so that JDG could benefit from a three-game set here.

Zoom - TOP ($6,600)

JDG's regular top laner has been a beast his whole career, but his recent absence from the team due to quarantine and subsequent return along with the increased number of eyes on the sport have accentuated it. He is in a great matchup here with whoever RW trot out in the top lane. His stats and skill level are far above those of either top-laner from the side of RW, and he is absolutely a win condition for his squad on Tuesday.

Yagao - MID ($7,600)

The other half of the "dumpling brothers" combo with Zoom is mid-laner, Yagao. With the jungle and bot matchups being so close, it is the solo laners for JDG that I expect to make up the difference here. Yagao is statistically in the top ten of LPL mids, and if that doesn't sound very impressive, scroll down the list of players in this league.

Neither Wuming or Ruby sniff the top 15 giving Yagao a decided advantage here. In Wuming's few LPL games thus far, he has only played safer scaling champions. Yagao on an assassin or mage should be able to exploit his advantage and dominate the early-mid game before the safer options come online later.

5:00 AM: Vici Gaming (-225) vs. Suning Gaming

Suning is a confusing team in that they generally have good stats across the board, but they are not as good as their stats say they should be. They haven't beaten anyone of note in their recent games losing to a DMO squad that I thought they should have beaten. VG, on the other hand, has been competitive with the better teams and should be able to come away with a victory here.

Vici do tend to go to a third game more often than not, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them do so here as well. Similarly to the first match, I'm not concerned about VG ability to score here in a 2-1. Both teams focus the bot lane heavily VG are especially good at taking dragons with a 55.5% rate. The bot lane matchup here is very close, making Iboy and Hang good choices, but it is some other parts of the map that will give them that advantage.

Aix - JNG ($6,600)

VG jungler has been superb all split, helping lead them to the edge of a playoff berth. He will be a difference-maker in this matchup. Coach Kkoma should be able to manipulate the draft phase by playing off of SNG tendencies to draft Jarvan and Miss Fortune to be able to get Aix his signature Olaf. He is 7-1 on the pick this split, and it suits his aggressive style to a tee.

Forge - MID ($7,400)

The former IG back up has been looking solid for VG, especially on assains like Leblanc or Quiyana. It should be a simple draft phase for VG as they only need to deny Kassadin from Angel, and his win percentage drops exponentially. Kkoma is one of the smartest coaches anywhere, and I expect him to be able to set both his jungler and mid-laner up for success.

7:00 AM LGD (-125) vs. Billibilli Gaming

Another matchup of playoff long shots here with 12th meeting 14th in the league. Both of these teams have displayed the ability to play up to their competition with BLG taking series from TES while pushing FPX and IG to three games.

LGD hold wins over RNG, OMG, and also pushed IG to a game three. This set might be the closest matchup of the three this morning, and it shows in the odds but not so much in the DK pricing. I like LGD to win this based on their bot lane advantages. Jinjao has been mispositioning in team fights and will be at a disadvantage vs. Kramer in mid to late game team fights.

I like Meteor, but BLG has struggled vs. hyper-aggressive junglers. Yuuki is also underrated as a mid-laner, while I do prefer FoFo I think the bot gap is enough to swing this matchup into LGD's favor. With the prices the way they are on DraftKings, I think the play there is BLG, while on FanDuel I'll stick with my pick to win LGD.

Kramer - LGD - ADC ($9,400 - FanDuel)

Along with his support Killua ($7,300), This is an excellent price on FanDuel as the fourth-highest priced ADC on the slate. He leads LGD in KP% as well as kill share, and ADC is rising in priority in the new meta for 10.6 as well as 10.7. I like him here on FD, especially given his discount from DK where he is the most expensive ADC.

FoFo - BLG - MID ($7,000)

I'm admittedly a big fan of FoFo, and his jungler Meteor ($6,400), specifically on DraftKings for Tuesday morning. FoFo leads the team in kill share and KP%, and Meteor is only .5% behind him on the KP%. This deadly combo is too cheap on DK in this matchup, which should be close. I'm looking to exploit the pricing differences between the two sites on Tuesday.

Summary

This week of crazy upsets finally came to an end on Monday morning with all three favorites performing as expected and sweeping. I do like all the favorites again here on Tuesday but with nowhere near the confidence of Monday morning.

JDG is my favorite stack of the day, even in a close series, they can be the top scorers. Vici gaming is next on my list and likely my favorite GPP stack. They are perceived as a slow team, which they are, but Suning loves to fight, averaging 20.5 deaths per loss. All three of the underdogs are viable, with BLG being my favorite there, especially on DK.
