LPL DFS Picks for 3/2: DraftKings & FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings & FanDuel lineup picks for LPL on 3/2/21. His top LoL value plays and esports DFS recommendations.

Good thing I didn't jump off FPX as they ran JDG around the map. Doinb came in hard with the Kled and Nocturne picks, and not even Yagao's Zoey could stand up to the pressure. EDG righted the ship, albeit with much more difficulty than anyone imagined. We've got another two-game slate coming up today.

SNG and IG jump back into action after IG flamed out versus SNG last time we saw them on Sunday morning. BLG returns from a week off to face a presumably grumpy IG squad, and TT looks to finally close out an upset win for me after narrowly missing versus JDG.

Today I'll provide my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021. Make sure you follow me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

4:00 AM: SNG (-650) vs. TT (+400)

SNG finally seems to have come out of their shell a bit and shaken off their World's hangover. They picked up a nice win over IG on Saturday, and now it's up to them to keep that momentum rolling. TT lost twice last week to JDG and RA but looked good doing so, as they managed to take a game off of each. TT was one barrel away from sweeping JDG before they finally ran out of gas. We'll see which team can keep rolling today.

TT has a slightly better early game rating than SNG. They have the advantage in rift herald, first turret, first three turrets, and first drake. SNG has a better GD@15 and first blood rate. TT holds the upper hand in both neutral monster objectives, but with the superior vision numbers of SNG, I think that slight advantage will be neutralized somewhat. That leaves the team stats a narrow edge for TT.

TT was my long shot dog pick versus JDG, and I nearly got there. I think I'm going back to it today. Xiaopeng has a good history versus SofM in LPL play. 2020 saw both teams win a 2-1 series, and in 2019 each took a 2-0 from the other. The kill numbers for both teams are lower than those in the late game. TT is only projected for 16, and SNG for 17 kills, nearly two less than our earlier game. I'll take TT for a 2-1 win here, but I think hedging this match is the correct play.

Top TT Plays:

  • SamD - ADC - leads the team in KS%.
  • Xiaopeng - JNG - second in both kill metrics.
  • Chelizi - TOP - 62%KP is very nice for a top-laner.

 Top SNG Plays:

  • Huanfeng - ADC -leads the team in KS%
  • SofM - JNG - after a tough start to the season, his numbers are on the rise.
  •  Bin - TOP - 25%KS is excellent for a top-laner

4:00 AM: BLG (+255) vs. IG (-360)

Both teams played EDG in their return from break and left that series after two games BLG two down and IG two up. BLG has been off since last Tuesday, so they have had a week top prep for IG. Invictus played SNG on Sunday and, after handing EDG their first loss of the split on Friday in typical IG fashion, looked lost, dropping that series 0-2. Riding the IG wave should mean they will roll over BLG in this match. Let's take a look.

Statistically, the teams are very close in the early game, with IG leading slightly in first blood percentage, rift heralds, and first drake. BLG has a better GD@15 and first turret percentage. IG has the edge in total drakes and barons by a wider margin, and for once, IG won't be at a considerable vision disadvantage as the numbers there are relatively equal.

Puff gets the nod from IG in the bot lane, and I like that move for them as it will give him a chance to bounce back from the loss to SNG and build some rapport with Lucas. BLG is swapping back to Jwei in a move I'm not at all sold on. I harp on consistency all the time, and I think this helps out IG. We have to hope theshy got all the INT out of his system versus SNG; by god, that teleport back top with SofM still in vision was a tilt move if I've ever seen one. I like IG to bounce back in this one, and I think they score very well here.

BLG gives up almost 19 deaths in their losses, and IG is near 20 kills in their wins. BLG's numbers also look tempting, with IG over 19 deaths in their losses. IG showed us the last time out that anything can happen, and so if you like BLG here, I see no reason not to play them. Live that hedge life, baby.

Top IG Plays:

  • Xun - JNG - leads the team in KS%
  • Puff - ADC - second in KP% leads team in KS% in his small sample.
  • Rookie - MID - third in both kill metrics.
  • Lucas - SUP - if Puff trends up, he should take Lucas with him.

Summary

  1. TLDR:  TT 2-1, IG 2-0. SNG are the favs, but I'm rolling TT as I don't mind taking a shot in gpp. I was on TT over JDG, and just like FPX yesterday, I hate jumping off a team after riding them. Double whammy, I was off SNG versus IG, so I can't go jumping back on.
  2. Whichever way you slice it, the late match is the better of the two fantasy-wise. Look to get your big stacks from there, and maybe even your one-offs on FD.
  3. It's a two-game slate, so listen to your heart. Double dogs is a legit play tonight; double favorites with double top-lane; you could even game stack the late game as well. Let it rip everyone; good luck, and good night.
