LCK & LPL DFS Picks for 4/25/20: DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL and LCK slates on 4/25/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back RotoBallers to my League of Legends DFS column! We will continue to extend our analysis for LoL DFS across different leagues and sites, bringing you the insight you need to succeed. Thanks once again for the outpouring of support from the DFS and ESports communities. I can't thank you enough for the kind words on Twitter, and your support has afforded me the opportunity to write about something I love every day.

There are only two games on the docket tonight in the LPL and LCK playoffs. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as many of you already know, the Mid Season Invitational tournament has been canceled. This, along with the World's Championship in the fall, was one of Riot's premier competitions. What that means to us besides no MSI contests is the leagues are reverting to their normal start times for summer split. After LPL finishes its spring playoffs, there will be no League of Legends for us to sweat until mid-June. This will likely be the last split slate, and there are already some massive contests posted in the FanDuel and DraftKings lobbies, including the 12-dollar Kill Lane that pays 50k to first place!

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LCK\LPL slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 3:00 AM on Saturday, April 25th, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

LCK Finals

4:00 AM: Gen G vs. T1 (-180)

The LCK gauntlet is finally at an end, and as many predicted, its a matchup of former world champions. With the LPL semifinal looking to be going heavily in favor of FPX, this is the matchup we're going to need to focus the most.

This match is so close, T1 won both matches in the regular season but needed three games to close out both. I expect this to go the full five games due to how evenly matched the teams are. Since their match in week six, T1 has gone 4-2 with wins over SBG, GRF, AFS, and DRX.

Gen G finished out 3-2 with wins over SBG, APK, KT, and losses to HLE and DRX. Those are similar, so we'll have to go to the stats. Gen G is better early, but there may be no team in the world at delaying until they are ready to go. Gen has the upper hand in nearly every relevant statistical category except for vision.

Most of those advantages are small, however. One of the things that allows T1 to pick and choose their fights so well their exceptional vision control. It's that vision control and steady play in late-game that make me give this over to the side of T1.

Stats and records aside, and I'm going down to the intangibles here of T1, is a clutch late-game team. This isn't at all to say that Gen G is not, but T1 is better at it. Gen G is better early with Clid leading both teams in first blood %, and if you go for a Gen G play, that's your building block.

This is a good spot to hedge. In a long five-game series scores could equalize making GEN G the better play even though I expect T1 to win.

Top T1 Plays:

  • Teddy - ADC ($7,600 DraftKings, $9,900 FanDuel)
  • Canna - TOP ($6,200 DraftKings, $8,600 FanDuel)
  • T1 TEAM SLOT ($5,200 DraftKings, $7,700 FanDuel)

Top GEN G Plays:

  • Clid - JNG ($6,400 DraftKings, $8,500 FanDuel)
  • Bdd - MID ($7,600 DraftKings, $8,600 FanDuel)
  • Rascal - TOP ($6,000 DraftKings, $8,300 FanDuel)
  • GEN G TEAM SLOT ($4,800 DraftKings, $7,500 FanDuel)

LPL Semifinal

3:00 AM: Fun Plus Phoenix (-425) vs. EDG

EDG has had a bit of a miracle run to get this far into the playoffs. They began the split with some of their starters out for COVID quarantine.

Upon the return of those players, they were integrated back into their starting roles nicely. Then EDG threw everyone a curveball and brought their subs back to the starting lineup. No amount of curveballs, split fingers, heaters, or off-speed pitches are getting them past FPX tonight.

EDG has never beaten the Doinb led version of FPX in three tries, and they also lost to a team I dubbed "Great Value" FPX in the likes of WE. I can't see this getting better than 3-1 for EDG, and I can't trust their top or jungle in this matchup to not get subbed. The usual suspects are in play tonight for FPX. I'll be focusing around this rolling death ball that FPX deploys across the map.

Top FPX Plays:

  • Tian - JNG ($7,000 DK $8,900 FD)
  • Doinb - MID ($7,600 DK, $9,200 FD)
  • Crisp - SUP ($5,800 DK, $7,800 FD)

Summary

  1. Hedge the side of T1/Gen G as I expect it to be close. I like T1 to win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Gen G pull it out. Five games, either way, are likely.
  2. FPX should take this one down easily due to their history over EDG. I would prioritize this game of the two.
  3. Roster construction will be tricky tonight, that and as with all two-game slates, I expect a lot of ties at the top of the leaderboard.
