MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Freddy Peralta OVER 7.5 strikeouts (-104 FanDuel Sportsbook)

The red-hot Freddy Peralta will square off against the Pittsburgh Pirates this afternoon. Since the break, Peralta has been the best arm in the big leagues. He has a 2.63 SIERA, 39.8% K%, and a 17.3% SwStr%. Peralta has five outings since the break with double-digit strikeouts and has reached seven or more in six of his ten starts. The Pirates in August owned a 23.7% K% against right-hand pitching, suitable for the bottom ten against the split.

Joe Ryan UNDER 5.5 strikeouts (-124 FanDuel SportsBook)

Our second bet of the day also comes in the afternoon, with Joe Ryan toeing the rubber against the Guardians. This will be Ryan’s third start since returning from the IL. In his previous two starts, Ryan has gone 80 and 74 pitches. On the season, he has a 3.42 SIERA, 29.4% K%, and 14.2% SwStr%. The Guardians projected lineup has an 18.9% K% against right-hand pitching. With the pitch count concerns and the matchup with the pesky Guardians, I will take the under today for Ryan.

Jordan Wicks OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-144 FanDuel SportsBook)

The young Jordan Wicks has tremendous stuff and gets an elite matchup for strikeouts this afternoon. Wicks has a 29.3% K% and a 13.5% SwStr% through his first two starts in the big leagues this season. His opponent, the San Francisco Giants, has been an elite matchup for left-hand pitchers' strikeouts over the last 30 days. In August, the Giants had a 30.3% K% against left-hand pitching. The line at 4.5 is too low for Wicks. We at RotoBaller stressed smashing the button at 5.5 last week. Now he gets a better matchup at 4.5, so as Thunder Dan would say, smash that button now!

Davis Schneider OVER 0.5 total bases (-180 DraftKings SportsBook)

What a rookie season Davis Schneider is having since his call-up to the big leagues. He is hitting .381 on the season, with six HRs and 18 RBIs. His 1.310 OPS is the highest by any player over his first 15 games in the modern era. He squares off against lefty JP Sears. Over the last 30 days, he owns a .458 wOBA, .268 ISO, and a 61.7% hard-hit rate. Schneider, on the season against southpaws, is elite. He has a 304 wRC+, .610 wOBA, and 1.040 SLG. This has been one of my favorite total base props to attack because the line is always -0.5.
