In this article, I'll be providing my favorite betting picks for the MLB games on Saturday, August 20th, 2022. The odds on these bets vary from book to book and are constantly changing. I primarily use FanDuel and DraftKings sportsbooks, but I would strongly encourage you to shop for the best odds at whatever books you use daily. I would also advise checking back later in the day as I may add bets depending on odds changing or specific props becoming available after I first post.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Red Sox @ Orioles
O/U: 8 | Moneyline: BOS -120
BOS: Michael Wacha | BAL: Kyle Bradish
The Orioles won a wild one at Camden last night that ended up being 15-10 in favor of the home team. Baltimore continues to exceed expectations and now sits five games above .500 this season. Meanwhile, the Red Sox dropped to two games below .500 and these teams just seem to be heading in opposite directions.
Wacha was great his last time out, but he has fooled us before and I'm not buying it. His numbers still suggest he's pretty mediocre and these Baltimore bats are blistering. Kyle Bradish isn't someone I have a ton of faith in usually, but he hasn't been blown up either in four straight starts. It could be another high-scoring game here tonight, but I lean towards the home team, especially at better odds.
The Orioles continue to have one of the best records in the league against the run line. This feels like an easy bet today based on the trends and their continued strong play.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Cardinals @ Diamondbacks
O/U: 9 | Moneyline: STL -155
STL: Dakota Hudson | ARI: Madison Bumgarner
The Cardinals have been a money-making machine for me lately in bets, whether it's betting them outright to win, covering their run line, and with hitter and pitcher props. Dakota Hudson is their weakest starter, so I have a little less faith in them to win than usual, but I will continue to back their offense, which has scored five or more runs in each game of their current five-game winning streak.
Mad-Bum's days as a legit starter in this league are long gone, and the Redbirds can be incredibly tough on lefties with their lineup full of RHH and switch-hitters. I'm taking the over on the Cardinals' team total and I'll be betting some total base props on Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt, too.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - White Sox @ Guardians

CHW: Johnny Cueto | CLE: Shane Bieber
The Guardians just keep on winning and last night it was Triston McKenziwho took his turn playing the hero as he struck out 14 Chicago batters over 7 innings to lead this squad to yet another unlikely win. I like Cleveland in this game, too, as Bieber is in good form and pitched well in two of three starts against Chicago this year.
The Chi-Sox have scored three runs or fewer in 10 of their last 11 losses. And they've averaged only 3.7 runs scored over the last month. This offense can struggle, especially when they face elite pitchers. I am on the UNDER here for the Chicago side, and we need them to score three runs or less to hit.
