Happy Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5, RotoBallers! After a Gameweek in which “Big at the Back” was brought to life, we are back again with a week that seems a little tricky to navigate. The Gameweek 5 deadline for the 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season is Saturday, September 20, at 6:00 a.m. ET, when the Merseyside Derby kicks off. How to Play Fantasy Premier League Guide

Whether it's your first, second, or 20th season playing Fantasy Premier League, don't miss our How to Play Fantasy Premier League Guide for the 2025-26 season. It covers squad building, transfers, and all the new strategies coming to this great game for the upcoming campaign.

Liverpool vs. Everton

After winning the league last season, Liverpool is off to a flier by winning all 4 games. They have been scrappy, but they have found a way to win the games, and that’s what Champions do. We expect them to march on and dominate Everton once again at Anfield.

FPL Picks: Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo

Brighton vs. Spurs

This fixture has been a goal-heavy one in recent history, with an average of 3 goals being scored in this game. Brighton has had the better of Tottenham, but Spurs have shown significant improvement defensively this season. Brighton, on the other hand, is the 4th-best attack in the PL this season. Expect GOALSS!!!!!!

FPL Picks: Xavi Simons and Yankuba Minteh

Burnley vs. Nottingham Forest

We expect this to be a cagey match with both teams struggling to impose themselves this season. Both teams are in the bottom 5 for both attack and defence. Burnley’s home advantage might do the trick as they tend to play much better at home.

FPL Picks: None

West Ham vs. Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have had a great start to their season, even after selling their leading man, Eze. They have been solid in defence, which has been the main talking point. We expect another clean sheet in this game against 18th-placed West Ham United.

FPL Picks: Jean-Philippe Mateta and Maxence Lacroix

Wolves vs. Leeds

Wolves have been the worst attacking team in the league so far this season and also have the third-worst defence. Leeds, on the other hand, has been mid-table for both. We feel Wolves are lacking the bite, with Strand Larsen also injured.

FPL Picks: Joe Rodon

Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Another week and another poor performance from Manchester United. Although they are second in expected goals this season, behind only Manchester City, their gameplay in the final third has been subpar. Their defense, on the other hand, is the 4th worst in the league. Chelsea, on the other hand, is in the Top 5 for both. We expect lots of goals in this fixture.

FPL Picks: Bryan Mbeumo and Joao Pedro

Fulham vs. Brentford

This game has historically been high-scoring, with an average of three goals being scored. Both teams are mid-table in terms of attack this season and in the bottom half in defence. This game doesn’t excite us from an FPL point of view, and we will likely avoid players from both teams.

FPL Picks: Joachim Anderson

Bournemouth vs. Newcastle

Bournemouth have been on fire so far this season. They are in the Top 10 for both expected goals and expected goals conceded. To top it off, they have a much-improved Semenyo, who is now finishing his chances and is also on penalties when Kluivert is not on the pitch. Newcastle have been the best defence so far this season, but they will be a little tired having played Barcelona this week. We expect it to be a tight affair.

FPL Picks: Antoine Semenyo and Marcos Senesi

Sunderland vs Aston Villa

Sunderland are 7th for expected goals conceded in the league and have been pretty solid. Villa, on the other hand, is 19th for expected goals in the league. This statistic is very worrying for Villa, as it means they have not only failed to capitalize on the chances created but also have not managed to create them. We expect a low-scoring affair with Villa just managing to come on top.

FPL Picks: Ollie Watkins

Arsenal vs. Manchester City

Arsenal have dominated this fixture in the last five encounters, with two wins, two draws, and just one loss. They tend to hit City on the counter in these games, with City dominating the possession, but Arsenal’s defence has been a hard nut to crack. We expect Arsenal to remain solid in defence and wait for the opportunity to counter or score off a set piece.

FPL Picks: Gabriel Magalhaes and Tijjani Reijnders

That’s all from us ahead of Gameweek 5. It is still early in the season, and the teams have yet to hit their stride in terms of peak performance, so watch out for a few surprises here and there! Do not panic about your choices yet. Look at the fixtures, be patient, and you’ll surely reap the rewards!
