Fantasy Premier League: First Six Weeks Review

The first six gameweeks of the season are completed! Now, it's time to focus on the coming weeks, but first, let's look at the Premier League standings. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Crystal Palace are the top three, with Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, and Bournemouth following closely behind, all tied at 11 points.

On the other end of the table, Burnley, West Ham, and Wolves are in the relegation zone, with Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest just a few points from the drop zone.

Top FPL Scorers per Position

  • Goalkeeper: Robin Roefs - 39 points
  • Defender: Marcos Senesi - 44 points
  • Midfielder: Antoine Semenyo - 48 points
  • Forward: Erling Haaland - 62 points

Congratulations to those fantasy managers who have had any of the above-listed players since the season began.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 7 Tips

Target AFC Bournemouth and Arsenal Assets

Despite losing its entire defense in the summer, Bournemouth is currently in sixth place in the Premier League table, securing three wins and two draws in its opening six matches. The Cherries are unbeaten in their last four home games against Fulham, and a win at the Vitality Stadium would propel them into the top four.

One Bournemouth player to strongly consider this week is Antoine Semenyo. The Ghanaian forward has six attacking returns (four goals, two assists) in his first six matches and will be eager to extend that fine form this weekend

Arsenal is another team worth targeting this week. According to Opta Analyst, Arsenal is ranked top for the team with the easiest schedule over the next five matches, making their assets a smart investment for both now and the foreseeable future.

It's no secret that Arsenal is the best team in the league for its threat from set pieces. Their next opponents, West Ham, will face a difficult task this week when they travel to the Emirates. Arsenal has the most set-piece goals (7), while the Hammers have conceded the most (8).

If you have at least two free transfers, now is the time to add one of Arsenal's top-scoring defenders to your fantasy roster.

Ultimately, FPL managers should prioritize selecting assets from AFC Bournemouth and Arsenal for Gameweek 7. According to market data goal projections, each club is expected to produce 1.63 xG and 2.56 xG (expected goals) against their opponents this weekend.

In defense, Arsenal is projected to have a high likelihood of keeping a clean sheet, with a 51% chance.

Recommended FPL assets for Gameweek 7

  • AFC Bournemouth: Evanilson, Antoine Semenyo, and Marcos Senesi
  • Arsenal: Viktor Gyökeres, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber

Top FPL Gameweek 7 Captain Picks

The weekend fixtures present a list of fascinating options for your captaincy choice. Players like Bruno Fernandes against Sunderland, Anthony Gordon against Nottingham Forest, and Semenyo against Fulham present strong cases. However, our top two captain picks this week are:

Erling Haaland (£14.4m) - Man City away at Brentford

The 25-year-old has only blanked once this season, in Gameweek 2, and has scored in every game since the start of the season. There's no need to overthink it, dear readers; Haaland is a perma-captain option each week, at least until his form drops.

He currently leads the FPL rankings with 62 points, averaging 10.3 per match. The next match is away at the Gtech Community Stadium, and the league's top scorer, Haaland, will be eager to score against Brentford.

Viktor Gyökeres (£9.0m) - Arsenal vs. West Ham

Looking for an alternate captain pick to boost your rank? Gyokeres is the man for you. The Swedish international has accumulated 1.60 non-expected goals for Arsenal, scoring all three Premier League goals at the Emirates Stadium.

Facing West Ham next, Gyokeres is a compelling captain pick who will likely feature among the goals for the Gunners this weekend.

RotoBaller's FPL Team of the Week

Looking for a soft reset at this stage of the season? Yes? Then you are in luck. Our FPL Team of the Week will help share insights into the best assets to have each gameweek. This section will significantly benefit managers who are planning to activate their first set of chips (Free Hit, Bench Boost, Wildcard, or Triple Captain chip).

Here are our recommended FPL picks for Gameweek 7.

Factoring in recent price changes and market data projections, this team is projected to score at least 58 FPL points with Erling Haaland as captain. Feel free to make your own modifications where necessary.

FPL Challenge: Coca-Cola Beat the Icon

The FPL Challenge section for the 2025-26 season is back, and RotoBaller remains your go-to source for valuable insights on selecting the right assets for any challenge.

Coca-Cola Beat the Icon is the latest series added to the Fantasy Challenge game. Your favorite Coca-Cola ambassadors are mixing things up, as each task given is a unique challenge to tackle head-on. This series will span seven gameweeks, i.e., Gameweeks 4 through 10.

Here are the tasks presented by each icon below:

  • Gameweek 4: Rio Ferdinand - Classic Rivalry
  • Gameweek 5: Manny - Red vs. Blue
  • Gameweek 6: Alex Scott - Young Guns
  • Gameweek 7: Mary Earps - Zero to Hero
  • Gameweek 8: WillNE - Ice Cold
  • Gameweek 9: Nemzzz - Iconic
  • Gameweek 10: Tays - Winning Feeling

We will share insights on our top fantasy recommendations to select from each week.

Gameweek 6 FPL challenge team finished poorly with 37 points. Haaland stole the show with 16 points against Burnley, but top captain pick Xavi Simons, despite the double-points boost, underperformed and could only manage to score four points.

Our overall season rank is now 16,928. It's time to restrategize with our next week's picks and chase for a top 10,000 finish before the international break.

Gameweek 7 Fantasy Challenge: Zero to Hero

This week's task prompts managers to select defensive players, for double points are rewarded for clean sheets for goalkeepers, defenders, and midfielders. Each manager is given an unlimited budget to select a 6-a-side team, with a maximum limit of one player per club.

RotoBaller's top six picks for this week's challenge are:

  • In goal, Newcastle's Nick Pope is our keeper of the week and a solid pick for saves and clean-sheet points against Nottingham Forest.
  • In defense, the trio of Arsenal's Jurrien Timber, Aston Villa's Matty Cash, and Man United's Patrick Dorgu are our excellent defenders to rely on for possible clean sheet points and attacking returns.
  • In midfield, Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo is a solid midfield pick at home against Fulham.
  • In attack, Man City's star forward, Erling Haaland, leads the attack, rounding off our lineup in a 3-1-1 formation.

Captain of the Week: Jurrien Timber (c)

Best of luck to everyone participating in this week's challenge!
