How To Play Fantasy Premier League Guide

Whether it's your first, second, or 20th season playing Fantasy Premier League, don't miss our How To Play Fantasy Premier League Guide for the 2025-26 season. It covers squad building, transfers, and all the new strategies coming to this great game for the current campaign.

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 6 Tips

Target Man City, Spurs, and Everton Assets

After securing solid results against Premier League rivals Man United and Arsenal, as well as Champions League opponent SSC Napoli, Manchester City is now unbeaten in its last four games in all competitions, scoring eight goals and conceding only one, building strong momentum in September.

Gameweek 6 will be a breath of fresh air for the Cityzens, as they face newly promoted Burnley at the Etihad, making them the team to target this week. Erling Haaland, the goal machine, is one of those crucial Man City assets to have in your fantasy team this week.

The Norwegian has scored six of Man City's nine league goals this season and has hit a milestone of 50 home goals scored for the Cityzens. Although manager Pep Guardiola had expressed some fitness concerns about his star forward, Haaland was fully rested for the Carabao Cup match against Huddersfield and should be in his best shape to play before the weekend.

Tottenham is another recommended team to consider investing in. Thomas Frank has truly transformed last season's 17th-place Spurs, who are now in contention for a top-4 finish after racking up 10 points in their first five games.

The Lilywhites have conceded only three goals in the Premier League, indicating a significant improvement in their defense. Taking on the 20th-place Wolves, who have yet to win a game this season, Gameweek 6 promises to be a lock-in victory for Spurs, as their fixture list for the next five to six gameweeks looks promising.

Finally, it's time to turn to Everton. The Toffees have four points from their first two games at Hill Dickinson Stadium, subtly making their new home ground a fortress. Taking on out-of-form West Ham, which has conceded the most goals (13) of any opponent, a triple-up on Everton assets is not out of the question.

Jack Grealish's creativity has added an extra layer of attacking threat to Everton's overall play. Iliman Ndiaye is the team's leading scorer, and James Tarkowski has consistently made defensive contributions since the season began. These are your go-to Everton options for Gameweek 6.

To this effect, FPL managers should prioritize selecting assets from Man City, Tottenham, and Everton for Gameweek 6. According to market data goal projections, each club is expected to produce 2.76 xG, 2.03 xG, and 1.64 xG (expected goals) against their opponents this weekend.

Defensively, all three teams are projected to have a high likelihood of keeping a clean sheet, with a projection benchmark of 38%.

Recommended FPL assets for Gameweek 6

  • Man City: Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders, and Josko Gvardiol
  • Tottenham: Xavi Simons, Cristian Romero, and Micky van de Ven
  • Everton: Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye, and James Tarkowski

Top FPL Gameweek 6 Captain Picks

The weekend fixtures present a list of fascinating options for your captaincy choice. Players like Mohamed Salah against Crystal Palace, Iliman Ndiaye against West Ham, and Joao Pedro against his former employer, Brighton, present strong cases. However, our top two captain picks this week are:

Erling Haaland (£14.3m) - Man City vs. Burnley

Is Haaland playing at home against a newly promoted team? Yes? Then the decision is straightforward. The Norwegian international is this week's RotoBaller top captain pick.

Haaland has only blanked once this season and leads the FPL points table with 46, averaging 9.2 points per match. Next up is Burnley, and the Cityzens star forward is also a top candidate for the Triple Captain chip.

Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) - Man United at Brentford

Bruno "El Magnifico" Fernandes, who only joined Man United in January 2020, has set a new milestone for 100 goals scored for the club. A remarkable feat for a world-class midfielder!

Despite playing in a much deeper role this season, Fernandes has remained a key source of goals for the Red Devils, and he will fancy his chances when they travel to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

RotoBaller's FPL Team of the Week

Have you used any of your chips yet? No? Then you are in luck. Our FPL Team of the Week will help share insights into the best assets to have each gameweek. This section will significantly benefit managers who are planning to activate their first set of chips (Free Hit, Bench Boost, Wildcard, or Triple Captain chip).

Here are our recommended FPL picks for Gameweek 6.

Factoring in recent price changes and market data projections, this team is projected to score at least 63 FPL points with Erling Haaland as captain. Feel free to make your own modifications where necessary.

FPL Challenge: Coca-Cola Beat the Icon

The FPL Challenge section for the 2025-26 season is back, and RotoBaller remains your go-to source for valuable insights on selecting the right assets for any challenge.

Coca-Cola Beat the Icon is the latest series added to the Fantasy Challenge game. Your favorite Coca-Cola ambassadors are mixing things up, as each task given is a unique challenge to tackle head-on. This series will span seven gameweeks, i.e., Gameweeks 4 through 10.

Here are the tasks presented by each icon below:

  • Gameweek 4: Rio Ferdinand - Classic Rivalry
  • Gameweek 5: Manny - Red vs. Blue
  • Gameweek 6: Alex Scott - Young Guns
  • Gameweek 7: Mary Earps - Zero to Hero
  • Gameweek 8: WillNE - Ice Cold
  • Gameweek 9: Nemzzz - Iconic
  • Gameweek 10: Tays - Winning Feeling

We will share insights on our top fantasy recommendations to select from each week.

Gameweek 5 FPL challenge team finished with 35 points, finishing poorly in only the top 75%. The main highlight was Mo Salah's return, who bagged 20 points against Everton, while Noni Madueke and Johnstone only combined for a point.

Now sitting at 6,211 in the overall rankings, we need our next picks to step up if we want to hit our projected top 100 finish by the end of the Coca-Cola series.

Gameweek 6 Fantasy Challenge: Young Guns

This week's task prompts managers to select players age 23 or under, as they are set to earn double points. Each manager is given an unlimited budget to select a 6-a-side team, with a maximum limit of one player per club.

RotoBaller's top six picks for this week's challenge are:

  • In goal, Everton's Jordan Pickford is our keeper of the week and a solid pick for saves and clean-sheet points against West Ham.
  • In defense, Newcastle's Tino Livramento is a top-notch defender to rely on for attacking returns against Arsenal.
  • In midfield, Chelsea's Moises Caicedo, Man United's Bruno Fernandes, and Tottenham's Xavi Simons are top midfield options.
  • In attack, Man City's star forward, Erling Haaland, leads the attack, rounding off our lineup in a 1-3-1 formation.

Tino Livramento, Moises Caicedo, and Xavi Simons are our top picks for this week's Young Guns challenge, with a few additional assets selected from our Team of the Week.

Captain of the Week: Xavi Simons (c)

Best of luck to everyone participating in this week's challenge!
