Fantasy Premier League - EPL Team Reveals for Gameweek 5 (2025)

Bukayo Saka - EPL-DFS-Euro-lineup-picks-english-premier-league-daily-fantasy-soccer-fanduel-draftkings-icon

Our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) analysts reveal their teams for Gameweek 5 of the English Premier League fantasy game. Expert picks on Captains, Strategy, Chips, and Transfers to make ahead of the upcoming FPL gameweek.

Happy Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5, RotoBallers! Many FPL managers had their gameweeks saved by a 95th-minute Mohamed Salah penalty against Burnley. Still, that's why you pay £14.5m for a 90-minute, penalty taker... I think.

Gameweek 5 brings the unenviable hurdle of European football. Many of the league's top clubs will play three times a week from now until Christmas, so lineup rotation could become a thorn in our sides, both literally and in FPL.

The Gameweek 5 deadline for the 2025-26 Fantasy Premier League season is Saturday, September 20, at 6:00 a.m. EDT, when the Merseyside derby kicks off. Check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every EPL and UCL slate with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

Wale's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 5

Captain: Mohamed Salah vs. Everton

Vice Captain: Cole Palmer at Manchester United

Transfers: Rolling

It’s been an average start to the season. I finished with 50 points after taking a hit last week, and it only got worse with a Cole Palmer (£10.4m) return on the bench. Four weeks have passed, and my team has a total of 204 points with an average of 51 points per week; something needs to change soon to ensure a strong season.

Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) has given me more price falls than goals this season, and my patience is running thin. I’m giving him one more week before shipping him out for Erling Haaland (£14.1m), facing Burnley in Gameweek 6. As for transfer plans, I’m rolling this week as there are no quick fires to snuff out.

I’m benching DefCon kings, Elliot Anderson (£5.5m) and James Tarkowski (£5.5m) this week for Josh King (£4.5m) and Quilindschy Hartman (£4.0m), and giving Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) the armband in the Merseyside Derby.

Jamie's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 5

CapEkitikéugo Ekitike vs. Everton

Vice Captain: Florian Wirtz vs. Everton

Transfers: Dan Ndoye > Daichi Kamada

Coming off the back of my worst week of the season, some extra tinkering may be in order. For now, I’m rocking with the 3-4-3 formation. After captaining him last week (and being burned), Jack Grealish (£6.8m) is set to be the odd man out. That’s purely down to Everton’s matchup (away at Liverpool).

I’ve made one transfer already, ousting Dan Ndoye (£6.1m) for Daichi Kamada (£5.0m). Kamada was on my radar coming into the season. Now that he’s back from the injury sustained in the Community Shield, it feels like the right time to make the switch, especially as it frees up some funds down the line.

Alexander Isak (£10.4m) not being included in Liverpool’s matchday squad at the weekend means I have a bit more time before having to reEkitikéugo Ekitiké (£8.8m). At present, he’s also my front-runner for the captain’s armband, as I suspect many managers will be moving away from him this week.

Euan's Team Reveal for FPL Gameweek 5

Captain: Mohamed Salah vs. Everton

Vice Captain: Jean-Philippe Mateta at West Ham United

Transfers: Rolling

It was a tumultuous weekend for my FPL team. I removed Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer, only to see them rack up three returns. Fortunately, the duo I brought in, Mohamed Salah and Victor Gyokeres, claimed two goals to ease my pain.

I'm trying to accumulate two free transfers for Gameweek 6 and reverse the Mohamed Salah to Erling Haaland move. However, I also need to make moves to play my Bench Boost chip in the next few weeks, and I have some issues with Ismaila Sarr still red-flagged and Marc Guiu rotting on the Chelsea bench.

I'm still rocking with a patience over points mentality at the moment, but I can feel the Wildcard button calling my name like the one ring to Gollum in The Lord of the Rings. For now, I'm staying the course because Gameweek 6 could be a Free Hit or using two free transfers, and I'm not ready to commit to either strategy.

It's our fourth season covering Fantasy Premier League, so reach out to @TheFPLManual, @Baseball_Jimbo, @TheFPLBois, @F1FantasyEuan, or @df_solutions on X to let us know what you think of our soccer coverage.
