Fantasy Football Injury Updates for Week 5: Jonathan Taylor, Malik Nabers, Joe Mixon, Davante Adams, Brian Robinson Jr.

Jonathan Taylor - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for QB, RB, WR, TE for Week 5, as of 10/5/2024, including Jonathan Taylor, Joe Mixon, Malik Nabers, and more.

For fantasy football managers who are seeing injury designations up and down their rosters, to quote Yogi Berra, it's getting late early.

Week 5 brings a new cycle of injury news, this time involving running backs Jonathan Taylor and Joe Mixon, wide receivers Malik Nabers and Davante Adams, and tight ends Trey McBride, George Kittle, and David Njoku.

With the status of some high-profile players likely to come down to pregame, make sure to favorite the fantasy football player news page and download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app. This is the latest as of Saturday, Oct. 5.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update

The Indianapolis Colts will be without star running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) in Week 5's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to the team's official injury report.

Currently, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is second on the team in rushing attempts. But Richardson (hip) is also dealing with an injury, meaning Trey Sermon likely will be the first man up in the Indianapolis running game without Taylor.

Anthony Richardson Injury Update

The Indianapolis Colts designated quarterback Anthony Richardson (hip) as questionable for the team's visit to Jacksonville on Sunday.

The second-year quarterback did practice three days in a row in a limited capacity. Backup Joe Flacco finished last week's victory against Pittsburgh and likely will get the nod if Richardson is unable to play.

Malik Nabers Injury Update

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (concussion) already has been classified as out heading into the club's game Sunday at the Seattle Seahawks.

The standout rookie took a shot to the head in last week's loss to Dallas and has been in concussion protocol since. Wan'Dale Robinson (38 targets) and Darius Slayton (15 targets) are the only other Giants receivers with double-digit targets this season.

Davante Adams Injury Update

Speculate away: Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for the team's Week 5 game at Denver, according to the club's injury report.

The star receiver has been the subject of trade conjecture all week as his relationship with the team is on the rocks. In the meantime, Tre Tucker and Jakobi Meyers will be the team's top two receivers, with rookie tight end Brock Bowers also featuring regularly in the passing game.

Joe Mixon Injury Update

Running back Joe Mixon (ankle) of the Houston Texans will miss a third straight game, according to the team's official injury report.

With Houston playing host to Buffalo, the Texans once again will look to the combination of running backs Cam Akers and Dare Ogunbowale to fill the void left by Mixon. The former Bengal has not played since Week 2.

Brian Robinson Jr. Injury Update

The Washington Commanders listed running back Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) as questionable before the club's game against Cleveland in Week 5.

Robinson ranks ninth among running backs in rushing yards so far this season. If the Alabama product can't play, running backs Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols could see additional carries this week.

Devin Singletary Injury Update

The New York Giants downgraded running back Devin Singletary (groin) to doubtful for Sunday's game at Seattle.

New York, which already ruled out its leading receiver in Nabers, appears as if it also will be without its leading rusher. Rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. figures to take over in the backfield, but quarterback Daniel Jones is currently the only Giant aside from Singletary with more than 30 yards rushing.

Trey McBride Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (concussion) received good news this week by clearing concussion protocol ahead of the team's game at San Francisco, according to team reporter Dani Sureck.

The Cardinals were blown out by Washington last week without McBride. Along with rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., the third-year tight end is one of quarterback Kyler Murray's top targets.

George Kittle Injury Update

The San Francisco 49ers are listing tight end George Kittle (ribs) as questionable to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

The Iowa alum returned to the field last week after a hamstring injury sidelined him in Week 3 but finds himself back on the injury report with a new ailment. Eric Saubert is the top backup to Kittle for San Francisco.

David Njoku Injury Update

The Cleveland Browns designated tight end David Njoku (ankle) as questionable as the team prepares to face the Washington Commanders in Week 5.

Cleveland's starting tight end practiced on Friday, but has not played since Week 1 as the club has slipped to 1-3. Jordan Akins took over without Njoku, but the Browns offense still has yet to score more than 18 points in a game this season.
