1B and 3B Waiver Wire Pickups for Fantasy Baseball - Week 12

Nolan Jones - fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers waiver wire pickups

Lauren's fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for 1B and 3B for Week 12 of the 2023 season. Consider adding and streaming these first basemen and third basemen.

As we enter the second week of June, each MLB division has begun to take shape with clear frontrunners. It's still not too late to turn it around for certain clubs, and that includes your fantasy team!

Consider adding the players mentioned below to get a boost in the standings this week.

Here are some first and third base fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for Week 12 – June 11 through June 18.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Waiver Wire Pickups For Shallow Leagues (30-50% rostered)

Nolan Jones, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies (38% rostered)

Nolan Jones has always been intriguing. Drafted out of high school in 2016, the lefty bat has shown some promise at the big league level.

The Langhorne, Pennsylvania native debuted with Cleveland, the team that selected him 55th overall in 2022. He was then dealt by the Guardians to Colorado in November and was eventually recalled by the Rockies at the end of May.

Similarly to his debut with Cleveland, Jones has been swinging a hot bat since his promotion. He has batted .349 along with a .985 OPS, two home runs, 10 RBI, and four steals across 13 games thus far. Jones has already matched his home run total from last year in 15 fewer games and is within three RBI of 2022's sum (13).

With the Rockies currently on a home stand against the San Diego Padres, Jones may be a wise addition to not only take advantage of his hot streak but of the Coors Field magic as well.

LaMonte Wade Jr., 1B/OF, San Francisco Giants (44% rostered)

He's back. LaMonte Wade Jr. has appeared on this list before, and the Giants slugger is hot yet again.

The 29-year-old appears to be on pace to replicate his numbers from the 2021 season in which San Francisco won 107 games. In his last 15 games, Wade has slashed. 328/.420/.466 with a homer, five RBI, and 10 walks.

Wade Jr. was sidelined with injuries for most of last year but plays a key role for the team in a tough division like the NL West. He's one to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

Waiver Wire For Deeper Leagues (10-30% rostered)

Jake Burger, 3B, Chicago White Sox (28% rostered)

Although the White Sox have begun to climb themselves out of the early hole they've dug themselves in, Jake Burger has been a lone bright spot in an otherwise mediocre season for Chicago.

Burger, a former first-round pick, has displayed immense power at the plate this year, swatting 13 homers in 159 appearances.

Strikeouts remain an issue, but the 27-year-old is slugging .589 alongside a .891 OPS. He's good for a spot start here and there, particularly against lefties, whom he boats a 1.007 OPS against.

Ryan Noda, 1B/OF, Oakland Athletics (12% rostered)

Speaking of mediocre teams, the Oakland Athletics, despite their abysmal 15-50 record, have had some solid individual performances in their lineup the last week or so. One of them is rookie Ryan Noda, who continues to be a pleasant surprise for the team.

The 27-year-old has slashed .346/.500/.538 with a home run, four RBI, and eight walks across his last seven games.

Overall, he has a .872 OPS, seven homers, and 23 RBI in 60 games for the A's -- and that's not to mention his impressive defense. Looks like they might be taking him to Vegas.

Deeper Waiver Wire Options to Consider (Under 10%)

Jace Peterson, 2B/3B/OF, Oakland Athletics (3% rostered)

Like his teammate Noda, Jace Peterson has also been hot in his last seven games. The veteran has batted .391 and slugged .696 with two home runs, seven RBI, four walks, and two stolen bases.

This is more what the A's were expecting from Peterson when they acquired him from the Milwaukee Brewers in December, although he is a lifetime .230 hitter. Ride out the hot streak while you can!
