Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers - Top Waiver Wire Pickups and Starts for Week 22 (Aug 19 - Aug 25)

David Hamilton - fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers prospects waiver wire pickups

Fantasy baseball hitter streamers and starts for Week 22 of the 2024 season. Thunder Dan Palyo analyzes the top batter streamers to pick up in Week 22.

As we come down the stretch run, it's as important as ever to keep trying to improve your roster every week. The Waiver Wire gets a bit thinner every week, but there is still plenty of value to be had for those willing to dig!

Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups that can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.

In this piece, every week, I'll look to find hitters playing in the most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller.

What Teams Offer The Most Streaming Value?

Ten teams are playing seven games this week - BAL, CIN, HOU, LAA, NYM, OAK, PIT, SDP, TBR, and TOR.

Every other team plays six games.

Park Factors and Matchups: Upgrades and Downgrades:

The Rockies play all six games on the road -- DOWNGRADE

The Reds play all seven games on the road -- DOWNGRADE

Week 22 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers

I'll recommend only players who are 40% rostered or lower, and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!

Gavin Lux, 2B/OF - LAD (36%)

We are finally seeing this season what Lux can do as an everyday player at second base. He continues to hit over .300 this month and has raised his average to .248 on the season in the process. He smacked a pair of home runs over his last five games and continues to be productive out of the five-hole for L.A.

My only complaint would be that we haven't seen him steal a base in over a month, but beggars can't be choosers, know what I mean?

Andrew Vaughn, 1B - CHW (28%)

We haven't seen the power numbers lately for Vaughn, but he is hitting .364 over the last two weeks and is one of only a few cleanup hitters available this widely on waivers. I know the Chicago offense stinks, but Vaughn has proven before that he can be an above-average hitter, and his 14 home runs this season are a reminder that he does have the power that you might be seeking.

Geraldo Perdomo, 2B/3B/SS - ARI (27%)

Perdomo returns this week to the article even if he has slowed down a bit. The young switch-hitter is eligible at three different infield positions and has leadoff hitter skills - even if he hits 8th or 9th some nights.

David Hamilton, 2B/SS - BOS (22%)

The Boston middle infielder has been streaky this season, but right now, he's trending back up again after hitting .297 with two home runs, six runs scored, and eight RBI over the last two weeks.

He's also swiped five bases in that stretch taking him up to 31 steals on the season. His speed is a huge asset as he often stretches base hits in doubles and doubles into triples.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa, 2B/3B/SS/OF - PIT (22%)

The Pirates finally broke out of their two-week-long funk with two wins against Seattle this weekend. IKF is 5-8 in the series so far, with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. He's hit either first or fourth in his last three games, and Pittsburgh is clearly putting a lot of value on having him in an important lineup slot where he can use his on-base skills to get this offense moving.

Joey Bart, C - PIT (22%)

Bart might be the best-hitting catcher on the waiver wire. He's hitting .300 over the last two weeks with three home runs and now has 11 long balls this season in just 169 at-bats. He's beaten out veteran Yasmani Grandal to be the everyday catcher and has been hitting cleanup most nights.

MJ Melendez, C/OF - KC (21 %)

I know, I know - Melendez can be boring, and we have been here before with him teetering on the edge of rosterability. But the Royals are still rolling him out there as the strong side of an outfield platoon, and he has all the tools to be successful.

Brendan Rodgers, 2B - COL (20%)

Yes, the Rockies hit the road for the entire week, but Rodgers is on fire right now, riding an 11-game hit streak and is hitting .372 over the last two weeks. He should face a few lefties this week in Washington and is hitting in the middle of the lineup, where he has a chance to pile up RBI in addition to runs scored.

Oswaldo Cabrera, 2B/3B/SS/OF - NYY (13%)

The recent injury to Jazz Chisholm has opened up playing time for the Yankees ultra utility man, and Cabrera has responded with five hits in his last three starts and a stolen base. He should have regular playing time for the next few weeks and an opportunity to contribute across the board even from the bottom of this strong Yankees lineup.

Jonah Bride, 1B/3B - MIA (12%)

Bride has been one of the bright spots for Miami since the trade deadline. He's been the starting first baseman since Josh Bell's departure and has been productive as the Marlins' cleanup hitter. He's quietly hit five home runs over the last two weeks, and fantasy managers are finally beginning to take notice.

Ernie Clement, 2B/SS/3B - TOR (11%)

I still have Clement firmly on my radar for my last roster spot. Like Cabrera for the Yankees, Clement can play just about anywhere for the Jays, and the difference is that Clement is arguably the third or fourth-best hitter in a depleted Jays lineup on some nights.

Fantasy Baseball Deep League Hitter Streamers to Consider

Some widely available hitters (under 10% rostered) could be worth a look this week.

David Peralta, OF - SDP (9%)

Parker Meadows, OF - DET (7%)

Pete Crow-Armstrong, OF - CHC (6%)

Leody Taveras, OF - TEX (6%)

Will Wagner, 2B - TOR (5%)

Adrian Del Castillo - C, ARI (4%)

Good luck this week, and choose those streaming options wisely!
