FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/21/20): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Euan Leith highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 9/21/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's the final week of the regular season, and FanDuel kicks us off with six games on the Monday main slate. The Rockies are on the road, so that takes some of their bats off our boards. Still, we get a couple of rough pitchers facing off in the hitting-friendly confines of Truist Park in Atlanta.

With playoff berths clinched, and other teams falling out of the race, there could be some weird and wacky lineups this week. This will produce a fair amount of value plays to keep an eye out for to win some late-season contests.

I'll provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 9/21/2020. Be sure to check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like DraftKings, and other sports.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Adam Wainwright, P - STL @ KAN ($9,500)

Scientists have not found how to keep players young, but maybe they should take some blood samples from Adam Wainwright. He's posting his lowest ERA, WHIP, and FIP since 2015 and doesn't seem to be slowing down heading into the final week. The three-time All-Star has scored at least 40 points in three of his last four outings. His opponent, the Kansas City Royals, strikeout 25.4 percent of the time versus righties at home and have mustered a lowly .149 ISO in Kauffman Stadium. Wainwright has thrown at least six innings in seven of his eight starts this season, and another long outing tonight should have him in line for a win, and a quality start to lead your lineup.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Brandon Belt, 1B - SFG vs. COL ($3,000)

Belt is having a career-year during this 60-game sprint of a season. He has eight home runs, 20 runs, and 24 RBIs to go along with his career-high slash line of .295/.399/.582 in 42 games. Now, he and the Giants welcome German Marquez to the bay as they enter the final week. The first baseman has hit five of his eight home runs at Oracle Park, and four of those five have come off righties like Marquez. Belt has the 15th-highest weighted On Base Average versus RHPs in the league since August 1, and that should continue versus the Rockies tonight.

Jose Altuve, 2B - HOU @ SEA ($3,100)

It's been a lost season for the former-MVP, but some signs of life last week mean that Jose Altuve can still provide us some bang for our buck to end the regular season. In the weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the second baseman collected two extra-base hits, two RBIs, and two runs. Altuve has also managed a hit in eight of his last 10 games and should continue to rack up the hits against lefty Marco Gonzales today.

Ke'Bryan Hayes, 3B - CHC @ PIT ($3,330)

Hayes faces lefty Jon Lester on Monday and has been a tremendous late-season breakout for the Pirates. The third baseman has a .988 OPS along with three home runs and eight RBIs since he got the call on September 1. The rookie is projected to bat second in Pittsburgh's lineup today and should grab an extra at-bat or two if the Pirates can put some runs on the board against the soft-tossing Lester.

Brandon Crawford, SS - SFG vs. COL ($2,700)

The San Francisco is averaging 12.32 FPPG over his last five tilts to lead the position on the main slate tonight despite being priced as the ninth most-expensive option. Crawford has the platoon advantage versus German Marquez tonight and will look to continue his recent power surge. In his last six games, Crawford is 8-for-23 with two home runs, five doubles, six RBIs, and five runs. He will bat lower in the lineup than most fantasy managers would like, but the Giants are averaging 5.8 runs per game in their last five, and the lineup should turnover a few times on Monday.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Ronald Acuna Jr., OF - ATL vs. MIA ($4,500)

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for Acuna in 2020 after his breakout season last year, but he is still a great play in daily fantasy. He has 13 home runs on the season, and two of them came over the weekend series versus the Mets. The bat is hot, and he has a 1.284 OPS versus left-handed pitching in September. Acuna is a great candidate to get a couple of big hits off Miami's southpaw Trevor Rogers.

Starling Marte, OF - MIA @ ATL ($3,200)

This game is a gold mine for daily fantasy. Acuna was already recommended on the Braves side, but you can also stack your Miami Marlins versus Huascar Ynoa. Marte has a .265/.299/.446 slash line in a Marlins uniform along with three home runs, 12 RBIs, and four stolen bases since coming over at the trade deadline. Ynoa has a 5.30 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, and an 18.6 strikeout percentage. The only danger of Ynoa is that he may not make it more than a couple of turns through the lineup, and Atlanta has the third-best bullpen ERA in the league.

Corey Dickerson, OF - MIA @ ATL ($2,600)

Dickerson has been a steady presence on top of the Marlins lineup recently and looks to stay there for the final week. The 31-year old has 122 career home runs, and 106 of them have come off right-handed pitchers. The outfielder has struggled this year but is coming off a four-game series versus Washington where he hit .385/.429/.615 with one home runs and three RBIs. His cost remains low, and a leadoff batter is always valuable in daily fantasy, especially in a game that contains a couple of struggling pitchers like the Miami-Atlanta game.
