FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Jack Flaherty - STL at MIA ($7,900)

It's going to be tough to fade Shane Bieber with such a great matchup against the Royals, but he will likely come in at high rostership and he is quite expensive. Fortunately there are plenty of other starting pitchers to pivot to, including Jack Flaherty.

Flaherty got rocked in his first start of the season, but don't get scared off after one outing. Flaherty has a 29.5% K-rate with a 3.31 ERA since 2018, so this is a perfect spot to buy in at a soft price. The matchup could hardly be better in a pitcher's park against one of the weakest lineups in baseball, the Marlins, who had an abysmal .298 wOBA against right-handed pitching last year. Flaherty's combination of high floor and high strikeout upside make him a target in both cash games and GPPs.

Potential Alternate Play

Pablo Lopez - MIA vs STL ($7,300)

Look no further than the other side of this matchup for another underpriced pitcher. Lopez shoved five scoreless innings in his debut against the Rays and should get a longer leash this time out. A huge jump in his swinging strike rate (12.1%) led to a 3.09 FIP in 2020. While the Cardinals have added Arenado to their lineup, they were quite underwhelming against righties last year with a .305 wOBA. Lopez is a strong value play in his home park.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. - 1B/3B, TOR at TEX ($3,300)

The Blue Jays lineup will provide one of the best stacks on Wednesday against Kyle Gibson, who gave up five runs and recorded just one out on Opening Day. Gibson had a 5.39 FIP and a 1.60 HR/9 last year, so Vladdy can really tap into his power upside against him. His multi-positional eligibility and low price are the icing on the cake.

Keston Hiura - 1B/2B, MIL at CHC ($2,700)

Hiura has yet to record a hit yet this season, so it's safe to say he will not be rostered in many lineups. While he is certainly risky, winning GPP tournaments requires you to take calculated risks where there is upside. Hiura has 32 home runs in 147 career games, so his potential to leave the yard puts him in consideration as a standalone salary saver who can pay off nicely.

Jose Ramirez- 3B, CLE vs KC ($3,600)

Ramirez is reasonably priced for an elite player with enormous power and speed upside. He will bat third against Jakob Junis, who is a pitcher to target after posting a 6.39 ERA last year with a 2.49 HR/9.

Bo Bichette - SS, TOR at TEX ($3,200)

Bichette has arrived! After blasting two home runs yesterday, his price will be sure to rise from here on out. He's still extremely underpriced on this slate, though, and he is an essential piece of a Toronto stack.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Eddie Rosario - OF, CLE vs KC ($3,300)

Rosario is in a tremendous spot batting cleanup for Cleveland, where he can knock in RBIs behind JoRam. This lineup is another to consider for a stack against Junis.

J.D. Martinez - OF, BOS vs TB ($3,600)

Martinez will always be one of the best hitters on the slate any time he is facing a lefty in hitter-friendly Fenway Park. He is off to a scorching hot start, batting .533 with two home runs, and faces a southpaw in Ryan Yarbrough.

Randy Arozarena - OF, TB at BOS ($3,300)

Arozarena is batting .364 to start the season after coming off of an incredible playoff run. Fenway gives him great odds at his first home run of 2021, and he is in a great spot for runs and RBI batting third for Tampa Bay.
