FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (7/9/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome back to full day of daily fantasy baseball. Saturday brings us 15 games with a few different slates on FanDuel today. If you want to roster Blue Jays today you will have to get you money in on the All Day slate as it's the only place they are available. You can also play the nine game early slate or five game main slate today.

The pitching options are not quite at the level they were last night but we still have some terrific options headlined by Max Scherzer, Danny Salazar, Jon Lester, Jose Quintana and more. Let's take a look at some top plays at each position as well as some stacks for Saturday.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 7/9/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Toronto Blue Jays Right Handed Bats vs. Matt Boyd (Tigers)

It is risky playing an all day slate on FanDuel when lineups lock with the first game but the Jays are in a great spot on Saturday afternoon. The have won seven straight games scoring 55 runs along the way. They get an elite matchup vs. Matt Boyd who has given up 13 earned runs in just eight innings pitched over his last two starts. Boyd has also struggled vs. right handed batters giving  up a .359 wOBA and all five of the home runs he has surrendered this season. He also sports a 11.08 ERA on the road in 13 innings pitched. Build your lineup around Donaldson and Encarnacion and use Martin and either Pillar or Travis as the cost saving options.

Chicago White Sox vs. Joel De La Cruz (Braves) **Update - Julio Teheran will be starting for the Braves**

The White Sox get a matchup vs. one of the worst pitchers on the slate today and make an elite stacking option. Joel De La Cruz has made two starts this season for the Braves and has given up 16 hits in 12 innings pitched including three home runs. It is a small sample size but the 5.25 ERA and 4.97 xFIP don't suggest he is going to hold onto a job very long. Look for the White Sox to help him find his way back to the minor leagues.

Also Consider - Washington Nationals vs. Logan Verrett (Mets)

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Carlos Martinez (SP, STL) $8,900

The wins have been hard to come by lately bt Martinez has been pitching great since the end of May. He has picked up three wins in his previous seven starts with an impressive 1.46 ERA. His strikeout rate is slightly below average at 7.04 K/9 but will receive a boost on Saturday vs. the Brewers who are striking out 26% of the time vs. right handed pitching.

Max Scherzer (SP, WSH) $11,900

The top pitching option on Saturday and it isn't really close. Scherzer has been absolutely dominant sinec the start of June with an elite 1.90 ERA and 12.36 K/9 rate and has limited opponents to two earned runs or less in six of his last seven starts. The Nationals are big road favorites(-190) in a game with a 7.5 vegas total vs. the Mets who rank 18th in wOBA and strikeout 22.4% of the time vs. right handed pitching.

Also Consider - Jose Quintana (SP, CWS) $9,300

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Buster Posey (C, SF) $3,200

There is no reason why Posey should not be the top priced option today. While the average has dipped below .300 this season the power upside is still there as he has already recorded 11 home runs and 41 RBI this season. He has been extremely consistent lately as well with hits in eight of his last nine games including two doubles and three home runs.

Hanley Ramirez (1B, BOS) $3,000

Hanley comes in outside the top 20 in salary at first base making him a near must play in all formats on Saturday. He comes into this matchup with hit sin six straight and 13 of his last 14 games and is slashing .348/.449/.606 since mid June. He will face Matt Moore who has struggled this season with a 4.45 ERA and 13.1% HR/FB rate.

DJ LeMahieu (2B, COL) $3,400

LeMahieu is a very affordable option if you are wanting exposure to Coors Field today. He hits out of the two hole and has been red hot over the last few weeks. He is slashing .436/.483/.545 since June 20th with an impressive 165 wRC+ for the Rockies. The matchup is not elite but Eickhoff is due for regression with a 4.08 xFIP and 11.9% HR/FB rate. Coors should help him get to that regression a little faster.

Corey Seager (SS, LAD) $3,400

The shortstop position is not a very attractive one today so it's best to take the discount and roll with Seager. He is quickly turning into one of the best shortstops in the game and is hitting .299 with 17 home runs, 41 RBI and a whopping 59 runs scored on an average offensive team. He gets a great matchup vs. Luis Perdomo who is pitching to a 6.27 ERA since the start of June while allowing six home runs for an ugly 31.6% HR/FB rate.

Luis Valbuena (3B, HOU) $3,300

There is no one hotter at the third base position than Valbuena right now. He went off last night with three hits including his 12th home run of the season. He has now picked up a hit in five straight games including three home runs and eight runs driven in with six runs scored. Ride the hot streak into Saturdays matchup with Kendall Graveman who is pitching to a 4.69 xFIP with a 14.5% HR/FB rate.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Giancarlo Stanton (OF, MIA) $3,800

Stanton is back and on an absolute tear lately with hits in five straight and six of his last games. He finished the series with the Mets going back to back games with multiple home runs bringing his season total to 19 to go along with the 47 runs he has driven in. He has more raw power than any other hitter in baseball and gets an elite matchup vs. gas can John Lamb and his 17% HR/FB rate an 5.43 ERA on the season.

Mookie Betts (OF, BOS) $4,100

The Red Sox are a great team to target today in a home matchup vs. Matt Moore and the Tampa Bay Rays. Betts has been red hot since the middle of June slashing .337/.344/.562 with four home runs and 133 wRC+. He will look to extend his hit streak to 10 games on Saturday and will be in a great spot vs. Moore who is giving up a 35.4% hard hit contact rate to right handed batters.

Adam Jones (OF, BAL) $3,000

Jones is an amazing value today coming in with a six game hit streak and now has hits in 17 of his last 18 games for the Orioles. He had a very slow start to the year but turned it around when he was moved to the leadoff spot and has been slashing .296/.329/.553 since June 1st. Hitting leadoff, Jones should get lots of opportunities against Nick Tropeano who is walking over four batters per nine innings and pitching to an awful 5.05 xFIP.
