EU Masters DFS Picks (5/1/20) - DraftKings, FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Jason Malmanger's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for EU Masters slates on 5/1/20. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back RotoBallers to my League of Legends DFS column! We will continue to extend our analysis for LoL DFS across different leagues and sites, bringing you the insight you need to succeed. Thanks once again for the outpouring of support from the DFS and eSports communities. I can't thank you enough for the kind words on Twitter, and your support has afforded me the opportunity to write about something I love every day.

The final two EU Masters groups finish out one group a day. Today group C takes center stage, and we will now see three consecutive two-game slates as each they finish up their double round-robin format in a day. Meanwhile, FanDuel has an all-day slate where you will receive points for each player for all three games that they play on Friday, which changes strategy over there a bit. Spring season is coming to a close, but there are still some massive contests posted in the FanDuel and DraftKings lobbies, including the 15-dollar Shock Blast that pays 25k to first place!

Today, I'll be providing my League of Legends advice, analysis, and lineup picks for the EU Masters slates on DraftKings and FanDuel that lock at 12:00 PM ET on Friday, May 1st, 2020. Make sure you are following me on Twitter @Mr_Malmanger as I often post starting lineups when I see them and other useful info for the slate.

Group C Slate 1

12:00 PM: Singularity vs. Schalke 04 (-205)

Group C is a tightly bunched group after the first week, with the three top teams all sitting at 2-1. Singularity the Nordic champs lag behind at 0-3, and things won't be looking up for them tomorrow.

S04 are were one of the favorites to win it all coming into the tournament, and after a shaky week one, they will be looking to re-establish themselves as such. They are in the top five in every major statistical category in EUM, and Singularity is in the bottom three.

I think regardless of who starts for S04 they should be able to cruise to victory here in the opener. Schalke will be the team to go heaviest on in your lineups for slate one. Singularity average 23 deaths in their losses a number that is skewed by the blowout loss to K1, but they are still a team to target against all day.

Sertuss - MID ($7,800 DraftKings, $9,400 FanDuel)

The mid laner for Schalke leads the team in kill share with a hearty 31.3%, and he's going to be able to flex against Kroghsen on Friday. He and Neon (who I expect to start) share the carry pants on this team fairly evenly. Neon has a higher KP, but Sertuss has a better kill share. With this slate being so tight were going to have to look for every percentage point we can find as one extra kill could be the difference.

12:45 PM: K1CK vs. Movistar Riders (-155)

The first match between these two was not as close as I thought it would be. K1CK won 14-3 on day two, and the outcome was never really in danger. Friday, the will swap sides and do it again. I like a repeat performance from the Polish side here.

The opening betting line is already on the move MSR opened as a -155 favorite and is already down to -125. This movement shows people are pushing a lot of money to the side of K1; after their first-round win, I can see why. The teams are close statistically; the Polish teams as a whole have shown out a bit this year after some disappointments in past EU masters, and the blue side for K1 is their better side.

With all the momentum on the side of K1, it should make MSR the lower owned squad, and while nothing is sneaky on a two-game slate, I think we could get some nice leverage trying a few MSR lineups Friday morning.

Elyoya - MSR - JNG ($6,600 DraftKings, $8,900 FanDuel)

ELY is second on his team in KP% and third in kill share. If MSR wants to win this game and continue in the tournament, they will need to exploit the mid lane matchup, and I expect Elyoya to be very involved in trying to get Xico ahead and into a position to carry.

Xico - MSR - MID ($8,200 DraftKings, 9,500 FanDuel)

What can I say? Mid-jungle duos are where it's at, and Xico is his team KP% leader and their KS% leader. The middle lane will be the best spot for MSR to try to exploit their advantage versus the Polish side. Xico over Matislaw is their biggest win condition, and I doubt he gets it, but his Cassiopea is monstrous as he is undefeated on the champion this split.

Puki Style - K1 - ADC ($7,200 DraftKings, $10,000 FanDuel)

Puki might only have the third-highest KP%, but his kill share is out of this world at nearly 37%. His champion pool caught some buffs in the recent patch as the meta shifts more to the bottom half of the map. I would look to do the classic two-man stack with his SUP Raxxo. Rax has been playing a lot of engage champions like Rakan to set up Puki's high damage champions for success.

Shlatan - K1 - JNG ($6,400 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel)

The jungler leads the team in KP with 72.6%; his Gragas play this spring has been superb. He is undefeated on the champion in spring. Gragas remains useful throughout the game with his ability to scale his damage when ahead and retain disengage and utility with a well placed explosive cask at any time.

Group C Slate 2

1:30 PM: Schalke 04 (-220) vs. Movistar Riders

Nothing is going to be easy for the Spanish two seed as they move from bad to worse. They will stay on the red side and go back to back this time facing the Prime League champions. S04 are not only one of the strongest teams in the tournament, but they are also 15/19 on the blue side, and they owe the Spanish side after an opening-round loss at EU Masters.

We've had some success recently remembering that no matter how it looks, the underdog has a shot - this ain't it chief. I like S04 here to get revenge, continue their blue side dominance, and to prove the strength of the Prime League.

Lurox - JNG ($6,400 DraftKings, $8,000 FanDuel)

Lurox played the last time S04 was in action due to Gilius having had connection issues. He was predictably great and could start again regardless of how Gilius's internet is behaving. If he does, he becomes an insta-lock on FanDuel where he is priced as a backup. Hopefully, S04 provides us with that information via twitter before the games kick-off.

UPDATE: Gilius is starting today so we won’t be able to use Lurox for value.

Sertuss - MID ($7,200 DraftKings, $8,900 FanDuel)

2:15 PM: K1CK (-260) vs. Singularity

The first matchup between these two was the biggest blowouts in round one with K1 winning 36-9 in just under 23 minutes. I might just be chomping on chalk all day today. K1 demolished SNG on the red side, and now they move to their favored blue side for this matchup.

I don't expect things to get so out of control like they did day one, but I do expect a repeat in terms of outcome. This is going to be the match I try to play more heavily on, as it should be the higher pace of the two.

I don't like it, but with everyone targeting vs Singularity that instantly makes them the best large field GPP play on any slate. They likely go 0-3 today, but if they do find a win, they are instantly in the winning lineup.

Shlatan - JNG ($7,200 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel)

Puki Style - ADC ($8,000 DraftKings, $10,000 FanDuel)

Raxxo - SUP ($6,000 DraftKings, $7,600 FanDuel)

Group C Slate 3

3:00 PM: Schalke 04 (-220) vs. K1CK

The third slate on DraftKings in group C will be essentially a playoff game to determine seeding for K1 and S04. I expect both K1 and S04 to be 4-1 at this point, with Schalke holding the win over K1 to their advantage. Unfortunately for my second favorite Polish squad, I like the Germans to take this one too.

Sertuss - MID ($7,200 DraftKings, $8,900 FanDuel)

Lurox - JNG ($6,400 DraftKings, $8,000 FanDuel)

3:45 PM: Moviestar Riders (-200) vs. Singularity

The finale on Friday could be fun; MSR could be eliminated from the competition by this time, and SNG are already.

MSR will be playing for pride and maybe looking to take out some aggression on the Nordic champs, but the Vikings will likely pull out all the stops to try to go home with a win on the board. For me, this match is the best target of the two, and the most likely game stack scenario of the day to hit.

Beansu - TOP ($6,600 DraftKings, $8,700 FanDuel)

I haven't talked about the top lane much on any of these slates. That is because they are all fairly similar and for the most part you can pick whoever fits best. All the top laners today are between 51.6-55.5% kill participation, and 17.7-22.3 kill share fairly pedestrian numbers across the board. The only difference is that Nille, the top for SNG, leads them all in solo deaths. One solo kill could be the difference on these tight slates.

Xico - MID ($7,600 DraftKings, 9,500 FanDuel)

Summary

  1. On DraftKings, be prepared to change your mind a lot. In these rapid-fire slates in the past, we have had a lot of overreactions to results. Also, be cognizant of the outcomes for each team and how they impact seeding. Teams need to finish in the top two to advance to the knock out stage.
  2. On FanDuel, with the choice to put everything together, I like the value of K1. Similar to XL yesterday, they are the third-highest priced team across the board on FanDuel, and I like them to go 2-1 making them a nice value.
  3. We've seen some game stacks take down a lot of tournaments during EU masters showing the importance of the matchups. I like targeting against SNG on DraftKings hopefully, they can keep these matches competitive enough to help the favs pay off their value. Otherwise, the faders here will be the ones to profit.
  4. Have some fun guys we're running out of these precious slates, and when the break is here, we will miss this nonstop all day long LOL sweats.
