DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Ty Blach (LHP)

If you're looking for a cheap stack that many other fantasy players may overlook, the Phillies are a great option on Friday against Giants starter Ty Blach. While on the surface it may seem that Blach has had a good season, his 3.83 ERA is not supported by his peripherals, such as his 4.89 xFIP, which suggests that some major regression is on its way. Blach has an incredibly low 9.5% K%, which means that he doesn't have the kind of stuff to overpower hitters, and so the Phillies will be spraying everything back into play against him. That could lead to lots of runs at hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park. First baseman Tommy Joseph makes for a fantastic play at just $3,600, as he destroys lefties, with a career 131 wRC+ against southpaws. Guys like Cesar Hernandez and Howie Kendrick are also inexpensive players who should get in on some run-producing opportunities. With low prices across the board, it's a smart strategy to work a few Phillies into your lineup.

Detroit Tigers vs. Derek Holland (LHP)

White Sox starter Derek Holland has had a considerable amount of success through his first 10 starts this season, but it's likely to end sooner than later. Holland's 2.37 ERA is a mirage, as he is surviving off of an unsustainable .257 BABIP, while walking a career-high 9.5% of batters. His 4.37 FIP and 4.75 xFIP are more accurate indicators of his true-talent level. Hopefully this makes Holland a contrarian stack target, as other fantasy owners will be scared off by the low ERA. The Tigers are looking to have a big day off of him, and J.D. Martinez and Miguel Cabrera are two of the top elite plays on Friday. You can also take Justin Upton in the outfield, or Nick Castellanos for a value buy. Any Tigers hitter could produce for you on Friday against Holland.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

German Marquez, COL @ SD - $7,200

When he's away from Coors Field, Rockies starter German Marquez has been lights out this year, posting a 1.06 ERA in 17 innings with a 23% K-rate. Those numbers should only improve on Friday as he heads to San Diego, one of the best pitcher's parks in the league, to face a measly Padres lineup that's 27th in wOBA against right-handers with their .293 mark. They also strike out at the second-highest rate in baseball against righties, at 25.4%. Marquez provides a combination of strikeout upside and run-prevention capability that makes his $7,200 price tag insanely low.

Jerad Eickhoff, PHI vs. SF - $6,200

Phillies starter Jerad Eickhoff has not had himself a good year thus far, putting up a 4.74 ERA with an ugly 0-5 record. But if there's one lineup he can get his first win against, it would be the Giants, who are dead last in wOBA versus righties at .278. Eickhoff does have a solid 20.2% K'-rate this year, and his 3.90 FIP suggests that his high ERA has been the result of some bad luck. At such a low price, it's hard to pass up Eickhoff against baseball's worst lineup.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Yasmani Grandal, LAD @ MIL - $3,600

Yasmani Grandal has been one of the best hitting catchers in the league over the past two years, putting up a 122 wRC+ in both 2016 and 2017. Grandal also has a .929 OPS in his last 30 days, with a .349 average. That's oustanding production out of a position where it's hard to get much offense at all. Grandal hits in the dangerous Dodgers lineup, where he will see lots of run and RBI opportunities against Jimmy Nelson in Milwaukee. Miller Park is one of the best offensive environments in the league, and Nelson has been inconsistent all year.

First Base (1B)

Mitch Moreland, BOS @ BAL - $4,100

Normally Red Sox hitters are less valuable on the road, but when they travel to Oriole Park, they can produce just as well. Baltimore is a hitter's paradise, and Orioles starter Alec Asher is a run creating machine, as he gave up six earned runs in two innings his last time out against Houston. Moreland is destroying the ball right now, posting a 1.153 OPS over the last 15 days, and he has a strong .361 wOBA on the year. He's already reaping the benefits of hitting in Boston's lineup, with 28 RBIs and 27 runs this season. He has a great shot at adding to those totals on Friday.

Second Base (2B)

Brandon Phillips, ATL @ CIN - $3,700

BP is having a productive fantasy season in Atlanta with seven steals and a .294 average, and he gets a superb matchup on Friday against Bronson Arroyo. The 40-year-old Reds starter has an absurdly bad 6.62 ERA, which makes him an easy target. Batting second for the Braves, Phillips will see plenty of production, and can excel at Great American Ballpark, a top park for hitters.

Shortstop (SS)

Andrelton Simmons, LAA vs. MIN - $3,900

While he's more well-known for his glove, Andrelton Simmons enters Friday as one of the hottest hitters in baseball, as he has a .975 OPS in his last 15 days with two homers and two steals. He's now batting leadoff, which is an ideal spot for DFS, as he will the most plate appearances that he possibly can. He's going against Kyle Gibson, who has a hilariously bad 7.85 ERA, so Simmons should be on base multiple times and score some runs.

Third Base (3B)

Eugenio Suarez, CIN vs. ATL - $3,700

Eugenio Suarez is one of the most overlooked hitters in baseball this season, as he has a 132 wRC+ in 2017 and yet is only $3,700 on DraftKings. In his last 15 days, Suarez has a .918 OPS with three homers. He's batting fifth for the Reds against Mike Foltynewicz, who has a 4.44 ERA and a 1.60 HR/9. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Suarez, who already has 10 homers, to go deep off of him in Cincinnati, a great park for power. Now is the time to pounce on Suarez, before his price finally increases.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

David Peralta, ARI @ MIA - $3,800

David Peralta has crushed right-handed pitching all throughout his career, with a lifetime 131 wRC+ against righties, and he faces a garbage right-hander in Jose Urena on Friday. Urena has a 5.06 FIP and 5.56 xFIP, meaning the Diamondbacks are about to tee off on him on Friday, and Peralta will be batting second, with Paul Goldschmidt and Jake Lamb behind him. Peralta is batting .308 with four steals, four homers, and 27 runs, making him an all-around fantasy contributor.

Gregory Polanco, PIT @ NYM - $4,100

Any player with a day-to-day tag on them is usually a good contrarian play, as most fantasy players are scared off by the possibility of a player sitting due to an injury. With Polanco, he pinch hit on Wednesday and said he felt better, then got an off day on Thursday. This means he should be back in the lineup against Matt Harvey, owner of a 4.95 ERA. Polanco is batting .438 since coming off of the disabled list, and will likely be at low ownership percentages on Friday, making his production even more valuable.

Ian Desmond, COL @ SD - $3,700

Rockies hitters on the road are always an interesting in DFS, as their prices fall much lower. Someone like Ian Desmond can still produce very well away from Coors Field, so the price drop makes him a very valuable player. While San Diego isn't a wonderful place to hit, Padres starter Clayton Richard is a great matchup, as he has a 4.33 ERA. Desmond hits lefties better than righties, with a career 110 wRC+ against left-handers, making the matchup even better.
