It's Sunday, August 21st, 2022 and we have a daytime MLB slate today. It isn't the football regular season yet, so why not spend a Sunday making some MLB lineups and trying to win a little bit of cash going into the week right?
This article has daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 8/21/2022, Main Slate at 1:35 pm Eastern Time. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The main slate is eight games on DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Shohei Ohtani- P, LAA vs. DET ($10,500 DK, $11,000 FD)
This Tigers offense will make a regular pitcher look like a hall of famer. What would Ohtani look like against them with his 35% strikeout rate? It's a shame there's rain in the forecast; hopefully it plays.
Justin Steele- P, CHC vs. MIL ($7,200 DK, $9,900 FD)
More of a spend-down option on DraftKings than FanDuel here but the wind should be blowing in at Wrigley, the Brewers are implied for under four runs, and he has similar peripherals as Alek Manoah.
Ryan Yarbrough- P, TB vs. KC ($6,500 DK, $7,100 FD)
Another punt option on both sites. Yarbrough has a low strikeout rate (17.4%) and a high SIERA (4.30) but that Royals offense is just not very good.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Luis Rengifo 3B, LAA vs. Eduardo Rodriguez ($3,900 DK, $2,700 FD)
He has a .425 wOBA and .262 ISO against LHP. Eduardo Rodriguez has a 4.59 SIERA this season and it's a good spot for him.
Bryson Stott- SS, PHI vs. Jose Butto ($3,600 DK, $2,600 FD)
I initially wrote off Stott for the season but in August he is batting .317. No home runs which hurts a bit but if wanting power upside at this position, you'd have to spend significantly more.
Jorge Polanco- 2B, MIN vs. Kohei Arihara ($4,000 DK, $3,000 FD)
Arihara has a 4.13 SIERA, an 11.1% walk rate, and allows 1.59 HR/9. This is a good spot for Minnesota overall. Polanco has not been playing especially well in the second half of the season but this is a spot to get back on track for him.
Daniel Vogelbach- 1B, NYM vs. Kyle Gibson ($3,800 DK, $2,600 FD)
What's not to like about a .350 OBP, and a .207 ISO in Citizen Bank Park against a pitcher with a 4.12 SIERA?
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
David Peralta- OF, TB vs. Zack Greinke ($3,100 DK, $2,700 FD)
He has not done much since coming to Tampa Bay. But facing Greinke and his 4.66 SIERA and 13.8% strikeout rate is a good spot to be in today.
Mark Canha- OF, NYM vs. Kyle Gibson ($3,500 DK, $2,800 FD)
More of a floor play here as Canha has a .371 OBP but just a .119 ISO with only eight home runs on the season.
Taylor Ward- OF, LAA vs. Eduardo Rodriguez ($3,700 DK, $3,100 FD)
If not wanting to spend all the way up to Mike Trout but still get some exposure to this game, Ward provides a good mini-stack opportunity with Luis Rengifo.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Here are a few stacks I am really liking today outside of Coors Field (Coors is always a stacking option)
- Pittsburgh Pirates + Cincinnati Reds- If this game plays, the pitching is so bad, I'd stack either of these teams
- Los Angeles Angels - Eduardo Rodriguez has a very high 4.59 SIERA
- Tampa Bay Rays- Greinke is always a target as he allows a lot of contact these days.
- Kansas City Royals - Yarbrough isn't good but is this offense good enough to do any damage to him?
- Atlanta Braves - Urquidy has a 4.25 SIERA; he isn't as good as his hype
