DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/14/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Luis Robert - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB DFS Picks, Betting Picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 14, 2023. Nick Shlain's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Friday, RotoBallers! The All-Star break is over and I'm excited to be covering another fun DFS slate. The MLB season has been good to me in the early going, so I'm looking forward to sifting through another crop of games. Let's break down my favorite plays for today's main slate!

Today's main slate features an exciting 14 games. I'll point out the standout plays, but there will be plenty of opportunities to get creative with your builds on this slate.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/14/2023 and the slate locking at 7:05 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Luis Castillo, SEA vs. DET ($8,900 DK, $9,700 FD)

Luis Castillo is my top pitcher on both sites tonight. He will be popular, but he's underpriced for his expectation in this matchup. Castillo will be at home against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers aren't an imposing lineup and their projected lineup tonight has a 24% strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching this season. Castillo has a 27% strikeout percentage on the season so he should be able to have success here.

Shohei Ohtani, LAA vs. HOU ($10,900 DK)

Shohei Ohtani is only available on DraftKings tonight, but he's my preferred option there if you're not using Castillo. Ohtani has a home matchup with the Houston Astros tonight and Ohtani has been great at home. He has a 2.35 ERA in 57.1 innings at home this season compared to a 4.60 ERA in 43 innings on the road. There's also the added benefit that Houston will be without Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez tonight as both remain on the injured list.

Ohtani is significantly more expensive than Castillo on DraftKings tonight, which should keep his rostership percentage lower and make him more attractive in tournaments tonight.

Also consider: Tyler Glasnow, Kenta Maeda, Paul Blackburn

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Gleyber Torres – 2B, NYY at Austin Gomber ($5,300 DK, $3,000 FD)

The New York Yankees are making the trip to Coors Field tonight to face the Rockies and Austin Gomber is on the mound. Gomber has a 7.84 ERA at home this season so there should be plenty of interest in the Yankees tonight. Torres is the premiere option for New York on the infield. He's an especially attractive play on FanDuel tonight, where he's really underpriced.

Torres has a .188 ISO against left-handed pitching this season and Gomber has allowed a .206 ISO to right-handed batters this season. He's in a great spot tonight.

Anthony Volpe – SS, NYY at Austin Gomber ($4,000 DK, $3,000 FD)

Volpe finished June strong and has three home runs in 10 games in July before the All-Star break. He has 13 home runs and 16 stolen bases on the season. Volpe is an explosive player with the event upside we're looking for as stolen bases are up across the league this season and he has power. He also gets the best matchup of the night facing Gomber at Coors Field with the added benefit of being cheaper than Torres on DraftKings.

Jonathan Aranda – 2B, TB at Alec Marsh ($2,000 DK, $2,000 FD)

Aranda only has eight plate appearances at the Major League level this season, but he was hitting .342 with 16 home runs in 71 games with Triple-A. Tonight the Rays go to Kansas City to face Alec Marsh, who has a 7.00 ERA after his first two Major League starts. Aranda is the best value play on the infield tonight as he's the minimum price on both sites tonight.

He won't be as popular as the Yankees infielders tonight and using him for value opens up expensive options elsewhere in your lineup.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Ronald Acuna Jr. – OF, ATL vs. Michael Kopech ($6,600 DK, $4,600 FD)

As I mentioned earlier, stolen bases are up league-wide and nobody has more of them than Acuna Jr. He's expensive of course, but nobody has been more worthy of his price tag than him so far this season. He also has a .249 ISO against right-handed pitching this season while Kopech has allowed a .233 ISO to right-handed hitters this season.

This will be Kopech's first game back since being on the injured list and it might be difficult for him to shake off the rust when pitching on the road against the best offense in the league in the Braves.

Harrison Bader – OF, NYY at Austin Gomber ($4,300 DK, $3,200 FD)

Bader is cheaper than Giancarlo Stanton by $700 on DraftKings and more expensive by $100 on FanDuel tonight, which is something to keep in mind when building lineups tonight. Both have good matchups against the left-handed Austin Gomber, but Bader's numbers have been off the charts against left-handed pitchers. Bader has a .594 ISO and .562 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season.

Jesse Winker – OF, MIL at Graham Ashcraft ($2,500 DK, $2,200 FD)

Winker hasn't had a good season this year, but he has crushed right-handed pitching in the past. He gets a bit of a revenge game tonight as he'll be returning to his old home in Cincinnati to face the Reds. Cincinnati is also a great hitters' park making this a ballpark upgrade for Winker. Ashcroft is allowing a .178 ISO and .354 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season. Winker is underpriced and one of the best values not on the Yankees on this entire slate.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

New York Yankees vs. Austin Gomber

It's no surprise that the Yankees are the top stack of the night for me here. Gomber has just been so bad at home this season. He's easily the worst pitcher on the slate. The Yankees also have plenty of right-handed bats that should have success tonight with Gleyber Torres, Anthony Volpe, Giancarlo Stanton and Harrison Bader standing out.

Once Gomber is out of the game, the Rockies have the fourth-worst bullpen ERA in all of baseball at 4.90. The Yankees are in a great spot for this entire game and despite their lineup struggles without Aaron Judge this season, I think they'll put up a big number tonight.

Atlanta Braves vs. Michael Kopech

The Braves are the best offense in the league and they're at home facing a pitcher coming off the injured list. Atlanta is expensive as usual tonight, but on a big slate like tonight that should keep their rostership in check and make them even more attractive for use in tournaments.

Acuna Jr. is the superstar for the Braves, but Matt Olson and Sean Murphy each have over .300 ISOs against right-handed pitching this season. Michael Harris II, Eddie Rosario, and Marcell Ozuna are all $4,100 or below on DraftKings and each of them has at least a .174 ISO against right-handed pitching this season.

Also Consider: Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays
