DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/12/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Aaron Judge - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 12th 2022. Mark Kieffer's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

It is Tuesday July 12th and like most Tuesdays we have all MLB teams in action today. There are several good matchups like Chris Sale coming back and pitching to the Tampa Bay Rays with Corey Kluber pitching opposite him. The Twins and the Brewers start a series, the Dodgers and Cardinals start one that should be fun as well. This article has daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 7/12/2022, Main Slate at 7:05 pm Eastern Time.

The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options, and value plays. The main slate is 14 games on DraftKings and 13 on FanDuel. Game 2 of the doubleheader between the White Sox and Guardians is on DraftKings but not FanDuel. There are a lot of different routes one can go with lineup construction and tournament strategy.

Today's MLB Weather Outlook

Cincinnati-New York, Seattle-Washington, and Brewers-Twins, have rain in their forecast. With all three games the rain forecast appears to die down as the game goes on. If it's raining earlier in the day, the concern are the field conditions. I'd make a check before lock if having players in my lineup from those games.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Gerrit Cole- P, NYY vs. CIN ($10,500 DK, $10,600 FD)

Gerrit Cole has fourth-highest strikeout rate on the slate at 31.2%. He also has the third-best SIERA at 2.98 and Cincinnati has the fifth-highest strikeout rate to RHP this season (24.1%). New York is a -330 favorite in this game as well, which is important for FanDuel.

Spencer Strider- P, ATL vs. NYM ($9,800 DK, $9,100 FD)

Spencer Strider's price keeps coming up with each passing slate. He has the lowest SIERA on the slate at 2.38 and the highest strikeout rate at 39.1%. He is facing the Mets, which are a decent offense and have the second-lowest strikeout rate against RHP in baseball. Dylan Cease ($9,700) is in a similar spot where he has a high strikeout rate (34.3%) but pitching to the team with the lowest strikeout rate to RHP.

Adrian Sampson- P, CHC vs. BAL ($6,900 DK, $7,300 FD)

Adrian Sampson is my favorite punt/pay down pitcher tonight. It's a smalls sample size of 21.2 innings but Sampson has a 2.91 ERA, 3.35 xFIP, a 22.4% strikeout rate and a 3.5% walk rate.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Ha-Seong Kim- 3B, SDP vs. Austin Gomber ($2,900 DK, $3,300 FD)

You don't see batters priced up on FanDuel more than DraftKings often. Austin Gomber is not a great pitcher, with a 4.38 SIERA and allowing 1.62 HR/9. Kim has a .376 wOBA against LHP this season and this game is in Coors Field.

Thairo Estrada- SS, SFG vs. Dallas Keuchel ($3,500 DK)

Estrada has a .200 ISO against LHP this season. He is probably more of a GPP play than cash play due to his low wOBA and on-base percentage. In a cash game, I might look at Bobby Witt, Javier Baez, or Carlos Correa, all in the $4K range, or just punt all the way down in the $2K range.

Javier Baez- SS, DET vs. Kris Bubic ($3,100 FD)

He's playable on DK as well and is $4,300 over there. Bubic has a 5.25 SIERA and allows 1.66 HR/9. Baez has a .392 wOBA and .250 ISO against LHP this season.

Taylor Walls- 2B, TBR vs. Chris Sale ($2,200 DK, $2,500 FD)

If Walls bats third again, this is more because he is batting third and nearly min-priced. Jake Cronenworth ($3,900 DK || $3,800 FD) would be my spend up option on the sites at 2B even in a lefty-lefty matchup here.

Luke Voit- 1B, SDP vs. Austin Gomber ($3,400 DK, $3,200 FD)

Luke Voit is not expensive enough on this slate

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Darin Ruf- OF, SFG vs. Dallas Keuchel ($2,800 DK, $2,600 FD)

He has a .369 wOBA and .214 ISO against LHP.  He is not good against RHP and could get pinch hit for later on.

Brent Rooker- OF, SDP vs. Austin Gomber ($2,000 DK, $2,500 FD)

If he is in the starting lineup, he could be batting 6th-7th and minimum priced in Coors Field. I would not play Kim-Voit-Rooker in the same lineup, I would pick at a maximum of two in the same lineup. For a cash game, spending this low on an OF could open things up for your lineup to spend up in other spots.

Aaron Judge- OF, NYY vs. Graham Ashcraft ($6,100 DK, $4,200 FD)

Judge is my favorite spend-up tonight if the game's weather holds up. We can afford the spend up with all the value on this slate. Judge has 30 home runs with a .327 ISO and a .361 OBP.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are a few stacks I am really liking today:

  • Both sides of Oakland-Texas: Texas is preferred, Oakland I could do in a large field GPP with many lineups. Otto has a 5.40 SIERA, Kaprielian has a 5.36 SIERA
  • Minnesota Twins- Jason Alexander doesn't allow a lot of HRs but he allows a lot of contact.
  • Both sides of Detroit-KC- Bubic has a 5.25 SIERA and allows 1.66 HR/9, Breiske has a 4.86 SIERA and allows 1.67 HR/9
  • Los Angeles Dodgers- Liberatore has a 5.08 SIERA and allows 1.46 HR/9. Cardinals' bullpen is messy too. Could get overlooked.
  • San Francisco Giants - Keuchel is bad. The only issue is pinch-hitting late in the game could take some guys out.
